| My husband and I did that. We made a donation in our guests' names to the Red Cross - we got married shortly after Hurricane Katrina. We had great little placards made up saying this. I also got some of those chocolate dipped "reception sticks" that say "Thanks for sharing our day". We tied some together and put a card with our monogram on it for each person. I thought the donation to the Red Cross would have a positive reaction, but not a single person said anything about it. We were glad did it though - a good organization got some support. People LOVED those chocholate reception sticks, though.

thats a very interesting idea. i was thinking about not having any favors because i always see people 1) not take them or 2) throw them away. it would be nice to donate money as my gift to my guests. thanks for posting this :)

| For anyone who's looking for something nice and a little different try donating to your favorite cahrite and having scrolls tied with ribbon saying 'a gift has been made in your honor to...'
