I had a dream that I kept putting off buying my veil and shoes because I figured it wouldn't take long...then 15 minutes before the wedding I realized I didn't have either and just grabbed a pair of black work shoes out of my closet to wear!!

I just had my first wedding dream (getting married june 3rd). I dreamt you could see my bra and that I was wearing an ugly brown t-shirt under my strapless dress. kinda funny actually. Crazy how we can spend so much time thinking about and planning for an event that will last a day, maybe two with rehearsal dinners etc. I worry that I won't know what to do with myself after all this wedding stuff. I actually heard that some couples get the blues for a while after.

Had another weird one. In my dream I was having a triple ceramony with a girl that I don't particularly care for and a girl that is already married. My dress was too tight and I couldn't zip it but it looked to big and I was wearing a black bra that you could totally see the straps and the back. I just woke up laughing.

Ok, I had a nightmare. I was going for my final fitting and I get the dress on and its dirty, they promise they will have it cleaned and pressed before I pick it up, but then I turn to the side and there's hot pink dye all over the side and they are trying to tell me I bought it that way and there's nothing they can do. I was then trying to tell the manager the sistuation and she could not understand a word I was saying. I woke up ticked off and seemed to stay that way for awhile:)

*knock on wood*

I have not had a dream about my wedding. I have been keeping myself busy exercising and keeping up with my friends. Life is too short to worry. Probably one of the reasons why I am not too concerned cuz I am/have done everything for my own wedding. My mom made my dress and is deco-ing my cake, I have my shoes and accessories (minus my weight, ha ha), I made my flowers, invites, favors... I am pretty much sitting back and concentrating on myself.

Last night I had one that I woke up the day of the wedding with a zit the size of Texas on my forehead!

Mambito- You're definitely not crazy! I have one at least once a week. My latest dream: the reception happened before the ceremony...and everyone was too drunk to come to the ceremony- so my fiance and I had to say our vows alone!

I have them all the time too! Everyone I tell thinks I am crazy, so it's nice to know I am not the only one!

I had my first one about a month ago. It was as if I hadn't done any more planning since that day, and suddenly it was the day of the wedding.

I hadn't picked up my dress or had it altered, so it was delivered on the morning of the wedding. It was the wrong color (mine has red on it, this had ugly orange instead) and was falling off because I hadn't gotten it fitted.

The cake, instead of being a nice-looking cake, was made up of a bunch of small purple squares, that looked like a small child had tried to use them to build some kind of arch.

I hadn't arranged to have flowers delivered, so I took off down the hill to find someone to do flowers. This at 8:30 AM when the ceremony is supposed to start at 10!

I had another a couple weeks later... I hadn't bought a strapless bra, so again at like 8:30 I was off to search for a shop that sold bras. There was more to that one but I just can't remember anymore.

My FI had one too! His dream was that he was somehow being forced to marry his sister, and nobody seemed to realize something was wrong! Yikes!

It seems like my dreams are about the things I haven't nailed down yet. I still haven't finalized the cake and flowers but I'm just waiting for a corrected quote before sending a deposit. I've picked up my dress since the first dream, but haven't scheduled a fitting yet. No bra yet either, but I'm waiting on that until I'm closer to my fitting date (probably late June) in case I lose more weight! I'd hate to shell out $50-100 for a good corset-type thing only to have it be too big! ;)

Mine was the my future mother-in-law moved the date and I had no time for makeup or a fitting before the new date!

Every single one of my wedding nightmares are different ways my sister can ruin my wedding. Lately she has even been saying that she won't even come (which would be better than comming and ruining it). I've drempt about her becomming a monster and eating my guests, also her showing up in a pretty white dress to my wedding. Amoung other things, that is the theme.

I am also having wedding nightmares. The other night I had a dream that the florist never showed up and last minute trying to run around putting flowers together.. looked horrible and then my mom forgot my dress and the band was late. I woke up in a panic I don't know if I can take another 6 months of this! hahaha

I've dreamt that

a) my teeth fall out
b) that I've plucked my eyebrows to ruin right before the wedding
c) that my hair falls out
d) that I bought the wrong dress
e) that I picked the wrong bridesmaid dresses

The last two, I just keep seeing myself repeatedly going to a department store and going through the stuff there, and I find things that are so much better than what I've chosen. And they're on sale, so they're less expensive too.

I don't think I was really worried about my dress until I started dreaming like that. Now I'm freaked! I keep looking at the pictures of all the dresses I tried on (I took my digital camera with me and kept shots of almost everything) and I know my dress is the best one...but there are so many dresses I didn't try on...

Ladies, I used to be a wedding planner and I have met more than my share of brides in my life. EVERYONE has these dreams. The funny thing is, the really mean do something. Just not too much. They are really just a reminder. 99% of brides dream about their dress. It is supposed to represent everything visual in your wedding. All the ideas and planning you are presenting to your guests.

I am now getting married myself and I have had my dreams. Including forgetting to have my dress altered. My dress being shortened to knee length and dyed black. Forgetting to buy my shoes. Forgetting to send my invitations. Not to mention dreaming that none of the guests at my wedding are people I know.

They are annoying but don't give them too much of your attention.

I had a great one--I got to the front of the aisle and my dress was pastel purple (rather than my simple ivory gown).

That's funny.
I just had an unpleasant wedding dream last night.
We are getting married next jan/feb.
But in my dream it was my dad re-marrying his wife. (not my mom) When I entered the ceremony, each of her two daughters were the 'best-man' and 'maid-of-honor'. I was instructed to go to the back and stand with all the other people who weren't important enough to get a seat! My dad just looked at me sheepishly. I was devastated. Then someone ruined my hair and I had to go wash and do it again, and i missed everything.

I think maybe it is because we are getting married in Las Vegas and I have no idea whether my dad will come or not. We are still having a reception locally. I guess I really want him to come, but will understand if he can't. I have not really asked him yet, or told him of our plans, since we really haven't firmed them up yet !!! And the whole point of vegas is to have a very uncomplicated wedding.

Very interesting.
Otherwise, I am with Darla, and completely unconcerned about our wedding. Whatever happens, happens, and was meant to!

On her wedding day, my sister-in-law got a tray! of red wine spilled on her wedding dress. Yes, Gasp! But she wasted over an hour of her very short afternoon wedding in her hotel room crying! Whats the point? Laugh it off, and enjoy your day with your guests.
Just my two cents!!!

Cheers,
Naan

All of us will be ok! You can't have control over everything that happens, just know you did your best and it's not about the party, it's about you and your husband. The bond that joins you two together will surpass the stress. The day will go by fast so we might as well enjoy it! We only get to do this once!

Oh man... SarahKristy- 3am! I feel so bad for you. Ugh...I hope you can have a relaxing day today. I was up until about 1am. (The undereye concealer is definitely on this morning!) For some reason this week has been much worse for the wedding anxiety- I think it is the fact that I realized I have 6 months to go. It still seems like a while, but I know how quickly it will go!

I wish I could be like that Darla.... the stress is so overwhleming at this point. I couldn't fall asleep till 3 last night because I was worrying. I use all the stress reducing techniques I know and try to "therapize" myself but to no avail....

to be honest, I haven't had any nightmare-ish dreams about my wedding. Whatever happens, happens. I promised myself not to fret over it. My dress is ready and church is set. Everything else, to me, isn't worth my stress. Well, actually, my body won't handle it so I have to take it all in stride. Plus my fiance is very laid back so it makes the planning so simple.

Oh wow. I'm not the only one. I've been dreaming lately that either my dress is falling off of me and I look super fat in it or I show up to the ceremony without my hair and makeup done... etc. It's usually about how I will look. A bit self-conscious......

My fiance even had a dream that he showed up to the wedding but didn't realize he wasn' wearing a tux and hadn't shaved. All our relatives wouldn't let him come in. So awful.

haha...i hate dreams

Oh my god! I'm glad I'm not the only one! They started at about the four month mark and mine usually involve missing attire. Missing bridesmaid dresses, missing grooms clothes, missing my shoes and tiarra....... woo, terrifying! I'm chalking it up as my mind's way of keeping me on top of everything.

One strategy I need to adopt is to not work on wedding stuff at night before I go to bed...I just don't know when else I can work on it! Reading wedding magazines before bed is a no-no for me. I think what made it worse last night, was that my fiance told me where we're going for our honeymoon...and it made me freak out about getting in bikini shape. Ugh! So much to think about!

I didn't think about that, Jen... it makes sense to worry about it at night when you aren't thinking about it all day long!

I have wedding nightmares every couple of nights. It seems to be worse when I haven't done anything wedding-related in a while...like I have to worry while I'm sleeping since I'm not worrying while awake.

Susanna!

That happens to me all the time. It's always some different problem but usually revolving around rain since my ceremony and reception are outdoors!

I've started having wedding day nightmares and they are having an impact on my quality of sleep! In a nightmare last night, I actually went around to my family and friends that were in attendance at my wedding and asked them to pinch me because I knew it was a nightmare, but I couldn't wake up! In the dreams, something usually goes wrong- like my bridesmaids are wearing the wrong thing, no one shows up, or worse! Oh geez- I think I'm going crazy! Any one else having this problem?
