We're not having a "real" honeymoom 'til next year, 'cause fiance has to work, so we're just going to San Diego for 3 days, next year will be our real honeymoon in Brazil, for 2 weeks. Spend 3 or 4 days visiting family, then on to Rio de Janeiro and Bahia! Yay!

We took a 7-day cruise of the Western mediterranean (Barcelona, Sicily, Naples, Rome, Pisa, and Nice), and it was absolutely amazing. If you decide to travel internationally, BUY TRAVELLERS INSURANCE! We ended up missing our cruise ship in Barcelona due to flight delays, but the travel insurance covered all the costs of rerouting our flights, our hotel stay until the boat caught up to us, meals and everything.

The best part of missing our cruise liner was the 2 days we spent in a little village in Sicily on the beach -- it was actually incredibly relaxing to be temporarily stranded in a town where nobody knew what you were saying for a few days and just sitting on the beach eating Gelato. Yum!

We got engaged in Disney inside Cinderella's Castle so of course it only makes sense to go back for our honeymoon. We are doing the Disney Cruise Line 7 Day Land & Sea package so 4 Days on Land doing the Parks then 3 Days on Sea on the Cruise. Once we return from the Cruise we are spending an additional week doing the Parks so that we can go to the Halloween Party. 2 Week Honeymoon Disney style...

Question - I would love to go and sit by the beach for a few days on my honeymoon, but my fiance is not that type of guy. When we went to Asheville, NC in the mountains for a business meeting instead of enjoying the scenery he brought his laptop to play games. Any ideas on honeymoons that both of us would enjoy? All the reviews for the all-inclusives are so mixed. Some like it...some don't.

My husband is exactly the same, it took a lot of convining to get him to go to sandals especially since he hates the heat. I find it definately worth the money. I once ended up at a horrible all inclusive resort in acapulco. The had the worst food that I ended up going out to eat and the flies around all of the bars and alcohol bottles slowed my drinking down a bit. Your travel agent should be able to tell you what kind of resort it is. It will be your honeymoon so i am sure no matter where you are it will be amazing.

We just got a packet in the mail about Sandals. It all looks so wonderful. The problem: we won a 3 night stay at an all-inclusive in Cancun, but I'm a little leery of what kinda of quality. But I think I'm going to have trouble talking my fiance into spending the money on a Sandals location. His family never took vacations, so he sees it as a complete waste of money...

I'm in your boat Michele...I don't know if we'll do anything that resembles a honeymoon. Right now we don't know where we'll be working next, and if we're at school getting our Master's Degrees we won't be able to just up and leave for a honeymoon. But sometimes we aren't sure we're going to have a real wedding either...

Hey Michele
I totally understand on all counts!! We had a mini honeymoon when we got married in Missouri (we went to Eureka Springs Arkansas for a weekend. And this time we are also going to Orlando/Universal studios and Citywalk for like 3 days 2 nights (our second ceremony here in Fl for the family)...Everything was SSOOOOOO expensive, and I like Orlando parks.

I'm so jealous! Everyone seems to be going someplace tropical or to Europe. My fiance and I are planning on going to Orlando for just a couple of days because, well, we have practically no money. Also, he won't fly so that rules out anyplace very far. Also, he can't drive (he is legally blind) so I will have to drive there. Nonetheless, it will be the best trip of my life, I'm sure!

Hi all!
We are going to PUNTA CANA in the Dominican Republic! I'm so excited and have heard wonderful things. We got a great deal at a beautiful resort that is only about 4 years old. It's all inclusive with 7 resturants and lots of activies, not including a full service spa. It's called Sunscape the Beach, Punta Cana. And we got our tickets for free with freq flyer miles! I can't wait to go! I've heard the beaches are amazing!!!

My thought, and that of my fiancee and I's is tghat there Won't be another time in your life that you'll really have a reaon to take this extravagant of a trip. It's most defenitly a 'once in a life time' opportunity. Also, do that math of staying at a hotel for seven days, and dinner, and breakfast, and lunch, and drinks etc... and it's not *that* big of a difference.

We're still trying to plan our honeymoon, and we're thinking about taking a Mederriterean Cruise - though it's definitely more than we initially budgeted into our wedding/honeymoon budget. We know we'll have fun wherever we go, but at the same time I don't know when we'd consider taking this extravagent of a trip again. Any thoughts?

To all of those staying at Dreams in Cabo, I've stayed at Secrets (sister property) in Dominican Republic and it was awesome. It was my first time at an all inclusive and it was the best. We did take a bunch of $1.00 bills for tips and at the end of the week gave a big tip to a bunch of the staff, but other than that you do not have to pay for anything. They had top shelf alcohol and the food was to die for!!

Hi I'm new here. The Alaskan cruise will be amazing!! My parents went last year and just loved it. I'm getting married July 22nd, 2006 but we still haven't decided where to go. Lot's of choices, we just have to pick one. Last year we lived three months in mexico (and got engaged) so we were thinking of going back and travel by bus throughout the country, staying at least a couple of days somewhere on the beach. Our second choice would be driving through the Rockies in BC Canada. I figure I'm working so hard to get sexy abs that I want to be somewhere that I can show that off. If I know I'll be wearing a bikini for 2 weeks it will make me work even harder!

mambito67 - where are you staying in cabo? my fiance and i are looking into an all inclusive resort there called "dreams".

speaking of all-inclusive, does anyone have any opinions on that? i like the idea because there are no hidden costs and everything's paid for but i've always wondered if it's really worth it and you actually GET everything you think you're paying for ... the only all inclusive trips i've gone on are cruises so i don't know how the resort stays work.

We broke ours up into two... one 6 month anniversary trip, and an upcoming 1 year anniversary trip.

Why? Well, I was moving to a different state, and did not want to think about planning a vacation on top of planning a wedding, job change, and new condo. So, we spent a week in Texas for our 6-month anniversary, and we'll be flying to Prague this summer (hopefully!).

It was nice to wait, since we don't have a ton of cash lying around, and we knew exactly how much money we could spend without tapping the credit cards.

We were thinking a week in Hawaii or a Caribbean cruise. However, we decided on neither because we just bought a place and can't really afford it. However, my parents have offered to pay for our flight and our hotel stay if we join them for a family vacation to Paris a couple months after the wedding. So we are talking them up on the offer and that will be our honeymoon.

Hey, we are going to British Columbia in Canada. Specifically the Pacific Shores Resort and Spa in Nanosse Bay. It is so beautiful and actually pretty tropical for being so far north.

10 day alaskan cruise out of San Francisco!

We're from the SF area, and we'd originally been looking at going on a 7-day out of Seattle, but with air fare, the price for the 10 day from home is only a little bit more, so we're saving the hassle of flying.

I keep getting so caught up in the planning of the wedding day, I forget about the honeymoon!

My fiance is keeping it a secret! I don't think I'll know until we get to the airport...as long as there's a beach with lots of sun, I'll be happy!

I originally wanted to go to Italy, he to Spain. But we let our family suprise us, and we went to San Francisco, to all the attractions, little islands. Then for our 2 year anniversary we went to Maui. We have gone to Mexico several times, and loved it too. But ultimately now if I had to do it over again, I would like to go to France. Maybe for our 15 year anniversary (I've been married 11years).

We are staying 5 nights at an the Dreams all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta... actually very very cheap since we are going in September! 5 nights, airfare for 2 from san franciscio, all food and drinks, plus some activities is less than 1700! Can't really beat that in my opinion :) I can't wait for september!

We won a 4day/3 night cruise and 2 night stay at a hotel of choice in about 20 locations, so we're going on a cruise from florida and then staying 2 nights in florida to go to the beach and disney world, in october. My wedding is in June, but we also won 2 more nights hotel stay so we are using those right after the wedding.

Before we got together, we joked with people that we were leaving our office unstaffed in the middle of February and going on a honeymoon trip to Hawaii. Nothing else is planned, yet, but Hawaii is set in stone.

We're taking a 10 day cruise, leaving from Northern New Jersey, going to St Thomas, St Maarten, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola (a private island of Haiti, from what I've read). It's on Royal Caribbean, one of the really big boats with an ice rink (I figure skate, so that's big for me).

We wanted a relaxing, do-nothing vacation, but Sept is still hurricane season and going to Europe was just too expensive. I'm really excited for our cruise, I think it'll be great! Especially if I'm comfortable in a bikini by then!

We've chosen a southern caribbean cruise on royal caribbean. We don't want to worry about drinking and driving, or having to bring a lot of money anywhere for food, etc. This was perfect for us because it is all in one.

We've decided to fly to Miami and stay in a really luxury deco hotel for 2 nights. Then we are renting a car and driving. First to Key Largo to go diving and swim with dolphins, and then to Key West to hang out, eat good food, and bicycle, snorkel, etc.

It took us a long time to figure out what to do! The other thing we investigated was going to Puerto Rico. It is affordable and offers everything from resorts to cities and anything you might be looking to do.

We chartered our own sailboat in the British Vigin Islands. It was wonderful. Here are a few things that caught our attention:

*Our own Captain and Cook (we didn't lift a finger all week)
*We were able to "pick out" food we liked
*All the meals were really healthy and fresh, we've even cooked a few at home since then
*The trip was cheaper than most of the all inclusive resorts we looked at. It was cheaper than Sandals St. Lucia staying in the "honeymoon villa"
* Everything was paid for and we didn't need any money during the trip.
*We got to go to some great islands that you will never see on a cruise ship.
* WE WILL DO IT AGAIN!!

Check out www.ed-hamilton.com This was the charter company we went through. They were very accomodating!
