I haven't picked all my church music yet, but I love Pachbel's Canon in D. I have six bridesmaids and the church aisle is 192 feet, so I think it'll be nice, since the song adds layers as it goes on, and with the number of people and distance to go, we'll hear more of it.
Our official dance is "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" by Frankie Valli. However, we're also going to be sure to dance to "You're My Home" by Billy Joel and "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole. Our last song of the evening will be "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin, since we're going on a cruise for our honeymoon.

Mick Jagger's You Can't Always Get What You Want.
I know that sounds wierd, but it's a sweet sweet story. This song was playing on the radio in the car at the moment I was explaining to him that I was falling in love but was afraid to show it for fear of him not reciprocating. The fact that he remembered what song was on the radio tells me that at that moment he was so totally tuned into the present and all of it's nuances as I 'professed my love.' So, our wedding guests thought it was strange that this was the song for our first dance, but I cried. Heck, I'm gettin' all misty now! :-)

| Our first song is going to be "When I See You Smile" by Bad English. Nothing like a little 80's hair band music!!!! We're thinking maybe "Photograph" by Nickelback for the wedding party dance and "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong for the dance with my dad and his mom (we're dancing with them at the same time).

| We dance all the time (in the kitchen, beside the cars in the morning...)With two kids, we'll steal some quiet time whenever we can! As a result, we have quite a few songs. Our first dance will be "Home" by Michael Buble, and then "You and Me" by Lifehouse. We haven't got it organized much past that, but our wedding favour is a CD we're burning of all our favourite songs. He's also performing a song at the ceremony, but I don't know what it is. Very curious...

Saralynn, I have no idea if these are anywhere near your taste, but here are some incredible songs that my boyfriend and I love (as far as I know, they're not all that common):
"Look After You" by The Fray "Closer to You" by The Wallflowers "You Belong to Me" by Jason Wade (of Lifehouse)

| We have no clue about ceremony or reception music yet. We're Catholic and getting married at the church, so the music for the ceremony has to fall in their guidelines.

| We'll for sure have background music for the reception, but that will be easy to choose. Thanks for the tip on how long we'll need. Is anyone that's non-catholic doing communion during their ceremony?
Ceremony: We have two vocal selections - Ava Maria and Grow Old With Me
And for the reception, we are debating between Edwin McCain's I'll Be and a song probably none of you have heard of called Greatest Story Ever Told by Oliver James. It just depends if the band will learn how to play the 2nd one or not!
| We are only going to play instrumental songs before and right after the ceremony from the soundtrack of Beds of Roses. During the ceremony we will have the traditional music going. Then during our cocktail hour and dinner it will be more instumental and jazz music.

Becky, are you having a professional DJ, having a friend/family member DJ, or providing soft background music? If you're providing your own and have an iPOD, I suggest burning 4 hours worth of songs--a mix of whatever appeals to you and your fiance--and buying or borrowing one of those neat little iPOD detachable speaker systems. They range in price, and I have to tell you, even though most of them are small, they pack QUITE a punch! Powerful tunes.

| What about music during the ceremony? I'm not having a dance at my reception, and I have no idea where to begin with planning the ceremony music!
| My song is Five for Fighting "100 Years". It was the last song that my fiancee and I danced to at our senior formal at his fraternity.
| My fiance has his idea of a perfect song but he is holding back on me. He wants to hear what I like. I have heard the song "Beautiful" by Jim Brickman and I love it. We still have 5 months to decide so it's not a priority as of now.

| I have been married before so it is only appropriate that my song is "bless this broken road!"

We love Edwin McCain's Could Not Ask For More!!! That song was played to death during the time that JFK Jr. died and I always thought they were like a fairy tale couple. So everytime I hear that song, I think of John and Carolyn and it seems so romantic!!
| This is actually one of the hardest things that me and my fiance have had to do! We have no idea where to start! we listen to mostly alternative music and that isn't always appropriate for weddings...any ideas?
| This has probably done to death but At Last by Etta James. I heard it as a small child and though this was a perfect first dance song.
| It will be either Cross my Heart by George Strait or Your Song by Elton John.
| Not too sure yet, we are actually up in the air in between having the song that we first danced to but sung by a band instead of the dj..."God must have spent a little more time on you" nsync..Bless the broken road which i love by rascall flats same as the last person! or Savage Garden truly madly deeply, my fiance and I both love this song and have a special thing for it =) so Ill let you know when we decide
| Blessed the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
| We are going with "I know how the river feels" by Diamond Rio...we had to find something that was less known and country!
| Let's hear it guys, what are your offical wedding songs?
