| WOW! You guys are spending tons! The cheapest I've found is 300 for as many hours as needed. All I pay for is developing cost & she will do reprints for extra cost. She will do an album for an extra 150-200 but my sugestion is to make one yourself, because then it's personalized the way you want it. I did find tons of photographers for 1000-4000 but the lady at 300 is just as good as them. We found another w liked for 900 for everything we wanted, including an album, also. But we found out FH's aunt went to college for photography so she's going to do it for free and we just pay for developing, which means we can get as many as we want & what sizes we want for developing price. Make sure you look around before you stick to anyone, especially if you have a while befoer your wedding. Go to bridal shows & get bride books for your area. Compare, compare, COMPARE! It will save you tons in the end. And you may find more for your money in some things.

| The Prices vary depending on what part of the country you rae in. Here (north east), I am paying about $2800 for hrs plus and album.

| I can't believe how cheap some of your photographers are! I supposed if I'd scouted out someone just starting out I could have found someone that cheap, but in Virginia the prices are insane! I am paying $2100 for 6 hours of coverage and my proofs album - and she was on the low end!

| I feel very lucky and blessed! I have my best friend's husband doing our photography and my bro-in-law shooting the video. I have been to many weddings (I am the last of 6 kids) and the videographer was such a pain! getting in your face asking the question "What do you want to say to the happy couple?"... I would rather tell them in person.

| My wedding is in Lansing, MI and I found anywhere from 800 to 4000 for pics. We finally went with one for $1350, includes wedding album, all day pics with multiple sites, and high-res CDs of every picture with rights to reproduce. I think we got a pretty good deal!

| We decided that the photographer was the one area we wanted to splurge on, so we're spending $2400. It includes the rehearsal (night before), all day with the photographer & his assistant, and 600 uncopyrighted digital images on a CD. For $400 more we get an album & various prints for giving to family.

We're getting ours for $1150 total- 4x6's in B&W AND color on everything she shoots and her reprints are super cheap!!! :) She's just starting out, so I think that's why the price is so low! But her stuff is AMAZING!
I went to college for photography, so I'm a little picky too! :)

| We are paying $1895 for ours, but we booked ours almost a year out so we got their last year prices. I did see a lot of photographers in that price range though. We lucked out. Our photographers have been in business together for 25 years and married for 40 years. So we feel extremely comfortable with them.

We're getting ours done free. My father's hobby is portrait photography so he's going to take some black and whites. My Matron of Honor's hubby is going to do the rest. They're both very good at what they do, too. Trust me, I made them audition.
So if you have any budding closet photographers in your friends and family network, don't rule them completely out. I have heard of major backfires with this, but if you ask them to give you some samples...
Just a thought.

| the photographer that we are going with charges $250 per hour and $50 per roll of film. we will be able to keep all the negatives and they will put the digital photos on CD. we have to make our own photo album. i really love our photographer - she is going to make us look like rock stars :) i think the total price quote was around 2100 dollars. of course its more than i wanted to pay but it will hopefully be worth it in the long run - who wants pictures that you dont want to look at ;)

| Ours is coming out to $1000 even.

| Photos are important to me as well. We are paying close to $3K for ours and I know he charges almost double that for the DC area. Just make sure you talk to more than one photographer before making a decision (you should do that with all vendors you choose).

| The photos are the most important part to me, too... photography is a small hobby of mine, so I love it when I actually get to work or see people that are really talented! Plus to me, if you get a really good photographer, those photos will last for generations (like my grandparent's wedding photos). So I just wanted to make sure that although I really want a good one, I wasn't getting ripped off :)

That is not above the norm... You could find less expensive if you really looked. For me, the photographer is the one thing I am splurging on. I really wanted someone who could do photojournalistic style photographs and am willing to pay for the quality and experience.

I think that the cost really depends on where you live. I found a photographer in my area who will provide 8 hrs of event coverage, and give me all the negatives with 4 x 6 proofs for $1295. It's more than what I had originally wanted to pay, but overall I think it is a good deal. Also, I looked at her work and she is able to (most of the time) take a photo on a photo (two pics on the same slide to create a collage effect). I hope she will be able to do that for mine!

| We're paying $2500 for our package, so that sounds about right. Although we did consider this to be an indulgence.

Ok, I found a few photographers I really, really like... but their packages start at $2800 (not even including a wedding album). My ideal one comes to $3100... just to reserve the date is going to cost 1/3 of that ($1000). Is this insane, or about right for a good photographer?
