That was my concern I need to get the whole wedding parties pictures into that hour. The wedding party will not be on the carriage but will probably meet us a mile down the road or so. The owner of the carriage mentioned the plan of picking my father and I up, the ceremony, and then the pictures and I just haven't had the chance to think out other ways. We just booked the carriage 2 days ago.

I need more info to answer the time issue. How many people in the bridal party? Will they be a part of the pix with the carriage or will it just be you and your husband? If they won't be a part of those pix, when do you forsee doing the formal photos with the bridal party and the parents and siblings? A good, organized photographer, with the proper info preceeding the event, can work miracles with an hour to shoot. Why do you want to utilize the carriage ride to the ceremony if everyone will already be inside and virtually no one who is invited will see you? Might you just have the carriage ready to pick up you and your husband afterwards so you can use more of the two hours to your advantage?
Also. try not to stress so much about the time issue...I have yet, in more than 25 years of doing this, to see a wedding held to a rigid time constraint. So, if there's a 5-15 minute delay on things, the professional services you have hired should be able to adjust accordingly.
That being said, we do count on you guys to have respect for the fact that we can only do so much in so much time...meaning, keep an eye on the start times and the pros should keep an eye on the rest. You're the bride; you rely on us to keep the celebration flowing with a rhythm that makes for beautiful photos, that the music transitions keep people dancing and that you make your guests comfortable and make the entire event seem effortless.
P.S. Do you have a clause with the horse people that, if it (sorry for using a 4-letter word...)"rains" they will provide you with umbrellas or be able to get you as close to an overhang as possible? Is there a place where the horse and carriage can go for pix where it is relatively covered?? Make SURE to check this out. With a limo there are one or two pix in it or getting out of it but with a horse and carriage the photo ops are much more numerous and romantic.
Good luck with it all,
Jodi

I have a concern about our time. For our transportation we got a horse drawn carriage instead of a limo. We have 2 hours with the carriage. The carriage is going to pick my dad and I up down at the hotel I will be getting ready at. Then we go to the ceremony. After the wedding ceremony we my now, husband and I will get in the carriage along with the photographer for pictures. We will spend some time with the carriage and pictures and then we will come back to the ceremony/reception site. The guests will come out and see us and we will be introduced as Mr and Mrs Coats. It sounds perfect, but I am a little nervous about time. It will take about 15 minutes to get to the site, the wedding will be about 30 minutes, which means we will have about an hour left with the carriage. Is it possible to get all of the pictures in within that hour that is left? I'm just concerned that we won't be able to get our pictures and all of the pictures with the bridesmaid and groomsmen too between the leaving the site and the welcome back Mr and Mrs.

Hopefully that all makes sense.
Thanks ahead of time!

I completely agree with OP- I have yet to see an "ugly" bride- there is no such thing. It is the one day of your life where you are the princess and you are marrying your prince. You can't help but smile and beauty just emits from you!

Oooh, I wish I was getting married again- I love weddings. Good luck to all Spark couples!!

Thanks so much for those tips! I'm really gonna work on accentuating my favorite features.
And you're exactly right about it not mattering what size the bride or groom is... the only way to make yourself ugly on your wedding day is to not be happy-- that is for sure! And I truly believe the only way to ruin a wedding is if the bride and groom are fighting, or are distant.

I'm really glad if any of the photo tips will help at all. If you have any questions or, if you're not sure what you can and can't do as far as photos go, please feel free to ask me and I'll try to answer them the best I can. Just remember, even though they are the professionals and should guide you through the day, YOU hired THEM and the finished album should reflect your taste and style.
Whether you're 120 lbs. or 320 lbs. this is a day you should feel beautiful from the inside out. If you need reassurance, just look into your fiance's eyes...they love you no matter what!

That is great pointers... i am a photographer as well... I never did a wedding, but I did portraits, and I agree with everything you mentioned...

You gave me goosebumps at the end... I"m nervous on choosing my photographer for my wedding... I am such a perfectionist when it comes to photos... I pick everything out... I want them all to be good, lol...who doesn't.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give you a few tips so the photos you take will come out to your liking.
#1...ladies, when choosing a dress, make sure, even though you might have always wanted a certain style, that you try on a bunch of diff. dresses to actually see what it looks like. Your "dream dress" might just accentuate the body parts you'd like to hide. The camera is unforgiving and you might be pleasantly surprised about a style you'd never considered.
#2....for the men...cummerbunds draw attention to your waists so if that's an issue, opt for a vest.
#3...NEVER let a photographer pose you square to the camera...that'll add a minimum of 10-15 lbs. to your image.
#4...make sure the photographer is shooting down on you;(he should be on a stepladder or at least a foot taller than you)this makes any image shot appear a bit smaller but still proportionate. It also does wonders if you have a bit of a "spare chin".
#5...Assuming you've hired a professional, if you have concerns, share them with him/her so they are aware of them. When I married I told my photographer NOT to shoot me from behind since my butt is my nemesis...and he didn't and I was thrilled!!
#6...accentuate your most positive attributes...your eyes, hair, beautiful nails, high cheekbones...whatever they may be; couple that with the realization you are marrying "the one for you" and turn any negatives into positives
#7...Celebrate the day and the meaning behind the celebration; the joining of two people and two families far (pardon the pun) outweighs whatever weight still troubles you.
And last, but not least, please remember the camera only records what it sees. In 25 years in this industry, I have truly yet to see a bride who isn't beautiful or a groom who isn't handsome...look beyond whatever weight issues you have(your bride or groom certainly has)and together, with your photographer, work on producing images that will last for generations.
Congratulations to all of you and I hope your special day is full of love and magic and happiness.
