| Send your invitations 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding and set the RSVP date for 2 weeks before the wedding. 2 months gives people enough time to plan to come to your wedding. If someone's planning to come to your wedding, they probably won't throw it out until after the event.

I sent save the date magnets to all out of town guests and to those that need to be constantly reminded of date.
I just got most of the invitations addressed today and will send in the mail tomorrow. Our wedding is September 27th.
I suggest to start looking at invitations as early as possible and request samples before agreeing to any payment or orders.
I started looking in May. I had some one waste one month of my time by saying they could make my invitations. The invitations were of low quality and high price. I unfortunately gave a $200.00 start-up fund and walked away from the deal. I was rushed then to find something else. I did order from Rexcraft with a three day delivery, which I am very satisfied with the results.

| i'm thinking about doing my save the date cards thru e-mail, but i don't know there is too much to do! and remember
|

| I agree six weeks is good for wedding invites. Save the date is especially important when you have people coming from out of town or your wedding is on location somewhere(ie vegas, islands,etc.)To give people adequate time to prepare I would send these at least three months out!

| that is what i heard too send them out a month before the wedding the wedding invitations. hmm..the save the dates idk how long to wait to send them.

a lot of ppl told us we should have done it a month b4
but those who we knew would come, came :)

i've done the same thing, i'm sending out the save the date cards this week and the invites will be sent about 3 months beforehand...gives me plenty of time to get them made as i'm making them all myself...works out cheaper for me

Of course it's a very personal decision for any couple getting married. I think you'll find that people like to plan ahead and look forward to attending life's big events. So, You can always send a save the date card first! Traditionally, wedding invitations should be sent about six weeks before the date of the wedding. You'll want to order the invitations as far in advance of this date as possible in order to allow plenty of time for assembly and addressing. Do yourself a big favor and get your mailing list in order now. This will save you lots of time when it comes to addressing and getting them in the mail! You'll find that you get busier and busier as your big day approaches. The sooner you can decide on your invitations, get them ordered, and get them sent, the sooner you can check this off your list of To Do's! I got married two years ago, and I had the same worries as you. This year I started my own specialty printing company. One of my best friends does specialty printing, she gifted me, my invitations, and now I'm brokering her products, their beautiful.

| How soon is to soon to send out the invitations? I'm afraid if I send them out to early people will throw them out and forget about the wedding or if I send them to late they won't get to some of the guests in time.
