i agree with TOORS1. i tried on and tried on wedding dresses, not feeling pretty at all...then i found the style/design that was screaming my name! so, when i tried it on, i knew i was still the "fat" me. but am confident about what i'm going to look like in that dress in 6 months....so excited!!

I know how you feel exactly. My mom and I went to this big department store for just summer dresses and she convinced me to go try on a few wedding dresses. One look in the mirror in front of everyone and I had a total Carrie moment from Sex & the City. Where she tries on wedding dresses since she is engaged to Aiden and has a nervous breakdown and starts ripping the dress off and breaks out into a rash.

Of course I was having a meltdown because I looked like a fat cow. And no "you look beautiful" from the women there was going to convince me of that. 280 pounds is NOT pretty!

I want to look at my wedding photos when I get them, not shove them under my bed like all the other photos of me.

On the bright side, you have come to the best place to help jump start your weight loss AND you have about a year to lose your weight. If you're constantly thinking about the negative, you'll never see the positives in life. You're a very beautiful girl, and your fiance loves you no matter what. I totally understand wanting to look good on your wedding day because it is a very important day in a girls life. That's why I joined this site. There was no way that I was walking down the aisle at the size I was. You just have to have faith in yourself and your abilities. I never in a million years thought I could make it this far, but I did, and you can too! I believe in you :D

I'm exactly the same, have tried a couple of dresses on but i couldn't even look at myself to see if i liked it. I'm getting married next Feb and the lady who makes the dresses told me that the latest i can order it is end of August....so i'm just praying i'll have lost a fair bit by then!
Keep going you can make it! you have to! believe that and it will be a motivation for you!
Take care x

I do understand that you are not wanting to buy a wedding dress just yet however I bought mine when I weighed around 200 pounds and it was very flattering and it made me look quite slim. Now the pressure has been lifted off me .. I will lose some weight but am now not frantically obsessing over it (as long as I don't gain any of course).

Good luck

I totally understand what you mean!!!! Even though my fiance doesn't mind who wants to not feel comfortable in the way they look on their special day?
