Well gee nothing changes...... the posts below could have been written yesterday not the beginning of this year. Now the year is gone........
Today
2 raisin bread w marg
tea
2 eggs scrambled in microwave
1 pc bread w pbutter
1 cookie
water x2
2 licorice
1 pc of toblerone
1 chicken sandwich
french onion soup
coke
choc dessert at applebees
tea

Not a stellar day again despite saying i would do it and can do it. I just don't seem to have it in me. My clothes are starting to feel uncomfortable and I too am feeling snug in my body if you can understand that.
One thing........ I can't wait for my walk in the am. with the dog.
I so enjoy that time.
on to another day.

I have been thinking about this journal, I like the idea but the 2 new teams I have joined along with my other 3 kkeep me busy. Anyway, I am going to stop this and blog on my Sp when needed. I will still be doing the spark as this is a super site. so any friends along the way, spark mail or visit my blog.

Hi Von and anyone else that is reading. I must say I was up late after work but the dog woke me today.
I am doing okay at exercise but the food issue still illudes me. Got into stuff at work good and bad which irritates me no end. oh well starting ovr allready- that too irritates me. I have to learn the food end of it.
So again, this am, will get my breakfast and today ( tues and thurs) is weights or resistance ie strength day. i have will try the weights cos i have yet to go buy a resistance band or weights dvd to learn with. or get my weight book out.
hope everyone has a great day, I will, go to city and get to spend my gift cert. at chapters and also go to chiro - feel better then.
but for now, eat something light (yogurt), go do my exercise, go in my sauna, shower and have a better break. and go to city.

Any ideas to keep myself on track with food???? tracking it, so far telling others on challenge that hasnt worked. not eating tons just not all the healthy choices.

Good morning, Cin! How are you feeling this morning? I hope that belly ache went away fast!

Great to hear Mur is moving with you! Super job on the elliptical!

I got up this morning and did 3 miles with Leslie with 3 pound weights and an ab segment with prevention dvd.

I have to run and get ready for work.

I do have an attitude today!!! I cant get that fast as you can von!!! But i did 10 mins on elliptical , then Mur got up and said okay will do the bike, I said I am done, well you want to be my workout buddy mon,wed, and fri. so I went back and did 5 more. shoveled some snow and then he went out and did the driveway.
Have to work eves today so will get more moving then too.


I am reading that How much does your soul weigh by dr Dorrie McCubbrey again. I really like that book gives me ideas but is so diff to anything here on spark. but will do this till I get more sure I can do it all her way.
OH Oh getting a belly ache again comes very fast and after I have eaten, not sure what this is about but cant have this going on all the time...
was ill last eve, but felt fine till now, geesh cant call work now only 2 hrs till I have to be there.
hope it goes as fast as it comes.

Hey! Do you have an "attitude" today? I sure hope so! And it is a "healthy" attitude! I got up and moving this morning. Oh, did I humbug..yep! But, I got up anyways and did it.

3 miles on the treadmill with intervals of striding, fastwalking and jogging. Can you say "sweat"? Oh yeah!

I did my abs and pushups too! Gotta get this body back to shape.

Healthy breakfast..egg white, measured 1 cup of bite size shredded wheat w/ 1/2 cup of skim milk. Protein, fiber, and calcium.

"if it is going to be it is up to me, a size 10 I want to be!"

Good Moring everyone!!!
Well the snow has started so not sure yet on our plans, weather network still isnt sure and one part says one thing another a diff story.
By the looks of it all, we will be going to the city today.
Thanks for the Birthday wishes Yvonne, and kudos to you starting so well. I am going to go down and do some on the elliptical again today, still very very achy but no idea, havent done that much to ache.
So heres to a great new years eve, I will not get melancholy just cos it is my bday at the end of year. I will celebrate the things I have done right this year, the things that have gotten better, the people I have met and look forward to a full new year to fullfill my dreams.
LOl Hey Yvonne, i have to return a pair of earrings that broke when I opened them so maybe i can put my birthday money towards the bracelet, hmmmm but cant wear it at work. lol one like medic alert one?? that i would be allowed.

Good morning!

Up and moving this morning! I am not waiting for January 1 I am moving NOW! I got my butt back on the treadmill this morning did 2 miles with a little jog added to it. And, then did some squats, kicks and knee lifts.

I sent you my eating plan for today by SP mail.

I hope you have a great birthday! The bracelet is still a great idea for someone special to be buying you..HINT!!

yes, we are encouraged to share and to blog, it is so great to read that you are managing to keep your goals front and center, esp with night work...that can be a challenge..thanks for sharing...has the storm started, do you buy extra supplies, flashlights etc?

HMMM I read on someones journal that we are encouraged to us the blog area of our spark page for this type of thing. Is this true? cos I do blog and can just stay there if that is easier or better. I dont mind either way....
just wanting to know.
Had a good day today and we are to go out tomorrow but a huge winter storm is coming, fine by me but don't want to work either.... anyway. know I will be called to work if it storms. we were going to go stay overnight at sil so if we can get there will be fine.

Well it is nearly midnight as I just got home from eves. was a quiet uneventful night so that was nice - no real rushing around and worked my end with a great girl.

I am so glad you finally took some time to get some rest. It does the body good! sleep is just as vital as exercise and eating properly. Great job fitting in a bit of exercise and using that fabulous new sauna.

Hope you don't get too much more snow there. We have gotten at least 6 inches today. And, what a mess our roads are here too.

I am getting back on the wagon with the holidays gone. My body is letting me know that I ate and enjoyed too much candy and cookies.

Tomorrow I am cleaning the rest of my room and storing away Christmas to start the new year with a clean slate.

Great job starting your online journaling. Keep up the Spark!

Thanks to another Kim lol. I did well last night and went to bed around 9 after a nap on the couch, slept well till about 6 and dozed till near 8 so getting back on my sleep. I thought we were going to have a quiet day home, but bil called and said they werent going wherever and we could come today. since when we said yes it has started snowing a lot, supposed to change to rain! I hope so and stay warmer so doesnt freeze. I would rather not even go but dh wants to go see their tree ect. Now that I said yes to an extra shift at work tomorrow, I more than ever wanted to stay home.
But thats okay, I did my floor exercises - mostly some yoga moves and stretches and then went in my new infrared sauna for 35 mins and had a shower and now eating a good lunch. I am bound and determined not to eat junk when we go over so hope she has more than Goodies to eat. I suppose could stop at the store and get some veggies to bring. They invited us for supper too. Will do my best and let you guys know.
I am hoping I will get some permanant visitors to this journal to keep me on an even keel.
Well better go get myself ready to leave. Hope the highways are still clear.

Good evening,
I have had a good day food wise, I got home at 7 am from work and slept for about 1/2 hr before we had to go to apointments. Anyway I ate a reg. breakfast, and then had lunch at mums and didnt get into any junk cos just kept remembering how rotten I felt all night. Had soup for supper as just didnt want anything else. I somehow have to get to sleep soon. Am totally exhausted.
Boy do nights ever do a number on me, have slept about 3 -4 hrs total in broken sleep since wed am. Yawn....

Thanks Kim for the great beginning and I just have to say you are very beautiful in your avatar.
Well today is starting pretty good food wise but I am beat. worked nights last night and didnt nap the day before and only slept about 3 hrs if that this morning. - going to be beat tonight and tomorrow am have to be up and out of the house by 10 to get to an apt. whew napping on way home in truck.lol glad dh will be driving.
Well havent done any exercise today yet, my thighs are aching, not sure if it is the weather but hubby has probably nailed the issue. i havent been stretching lately and was doing yoga stretches 2x day and have stopped for about 2 wks now. sighh just another thing to get started at again, but they make me feel so great.
right now I am going to go mail 2 letters, and go to the bookmobile, we live in the country so library comes to us in the bus.

HI back to edit as the day went on. I had a bath and didnt fall asleep but finally did for 1/2 hr on couch till the phone woke me, asking me to come in at 7. lol so got another hr sleep so at least feel more rested. but had supper and got into the sweets.
ARGH why.... I cant turf them as what i have left goes to my sil on new years eve. I will just have to be careful and I go to work in 40 mins.
Wore my pedometer today so will be interesting what amt of steps i get by 7 am.!
tomorrow a busy day for sure. whew. cya

As of right now, sitting here instead of trying to nap before I go in to work the night shift tonight, I am committing to 2008 being a year of change. Healthy changes in many ways.
I will be 51 Dec 31 and have always said by the time I am 30, 40, 50. Well 50 has passed, and havent been successful yet again. I am totally tired of letting myself down cos it is only me I am hurting. I have a sister in law who has gone from over 200 to 135 and looks great, she joined a gym, started eating healthy and now loves to work out and is at the gym 5x wk and is doing great. She is such motivation, and seeing her again today was super.
My hubby has helped me make a home gym cos we don't live near an area that has a gym, nearest one being 1 hr away one way. We now have an elliptical, recumbant bike, weight bench with weights, ball, one resistance band, and some dvds oh and my yoga mat ( which i got for Christmas last year and I use often). Also this Christmas we got for the house ( mostly for me LOL) an infrared sauna. so..........
with all this equipment, working only 60% ( I work in nursing in long term care) and having a half decent knowledge of nutrition, I should be able to get my act together and CARE about ME. I also have bursitis which I allowed to stop me from walking. I was walking 5 km 2x wk this summer and it got so bad that I was off work cos I couldn't walk long enough to do one shift. so slow and easy but not impossible.I also go to chriopractic care, and alternative physiotherapy so if I can care about myself in those ways then eating well and exercising are the next natural steps in the process.
I hope to meet some friends along the way on this journey and have you chat with me and encourage me and I in turn will assist and encourage you.
In saying this here I go........ the 26th of Dec. after eating a feast at sil today, and working the night shift where there will be tons of food in staff room!!!(EEEK) I am starting. I love quotes and will some days post some that mean something to me. I hope you will enjoy them too. Also if I find some neat info in all my readings I will pass that on.
There is no time like the present, and just cos my birthday is coming is no excuse to stall. I will go now and try to have a nap,then get myself ready for work.
I sure do hope I make some friends here, and we can have a healthy attitude to a healthier life!!! WE ALL CAN DO THIS WITH A HEALTHY ATTITUDE!!!!
