When I feel overly stressed, I take a minute to 5 or 10 minutes to sit quietly and do some deep breathing. Meditation and.or prayer help me to stay focused on the positive things in my life and turn everything over to God. He knows what I need.
My motto - STAY POSITIVE AND KEEP MOVING!

| I am also looking for help. I am working 65 hours weeks and can't find time to walk after a 12 hour day. On my feet all day, exercising is the last thing I can talk myself into when I finally get home. Need to find a way to redirect my stress into something positive. Would beating up a pillow count as a punching bag? -HA- maybe if I find something to throw or break it could count as arm exercise? -HA-HA-As soon as I find an answer, I promise to share.

| What do you do when the stress can't go away - sickly child, errant teenager, boss who won't stop adding stress (which is why as soon as i can i'm going to retire and get a different job)? I can't walk away or do a puzzle all day at work. Any ideas? i know some of my stress is of my own doing - i worry too much but i can't help it. but the child who needs to see too many specialists or the job that is too crazy....is that why my weight won't go down, in addition of course to too little exercise for the calories i eat? help please! thanks!

According to many medical professionals the answer is...Yes. Daily stresses triggers a hormonal release that signals the body to store fat. Overproduction of this cortisol hormone causes weight gain. when you feel stress coming on go for a walk. do an activity like a word game that causes your mind to work. anything that will take your mind off what's up setting you.
