I had my first papaya yesterday. Geese, I grew up in Florida and never tried the fruit. It tasted like a cantalope to me. I drizzled lemon on it to enhance the flavor. I had to go on line to find out how to cut and serve it :) Yeh, for the internet! I read all the great benefits from papaya and think I will have it more often!!! ....... check it out!!!

We've started to get mangoes in our stores that are incredibly good. They are especially good as a fresh side dish with a fish meal.

I have been eating a lot of pears (as they grow well in the NW) just as a snack. I eat apples and peanut butter. Cherries are in season and yummy. Thanks for the blueberry/oatmeal tip with walnuts. I am going to try that one.

Getting fruit in a smoothie with protein powder is the best!!!

Now that watermelon season is here, we are finding that eating a big slice as dessert after our evening meal works well. It is really filling, adds to water consumption, is low cal, and sweet. It helps keep away thoughts of high-cal sweets.

I throw sliced strawberries on my Kashi each morning. Yummy. I love soda, too, but I've finally given it up. Drink a lot of ice tea with lemon now and I've finally figured out how to get the water in me (I hate water). I fill my water bottle 3/4 full and add 1/4 grapefruit juice (100% juice). If you don't like grapefruit you can try any other 100% juice.

I have found a way of working blueberries into my breakfast each day. I keep a bag of frozen blueberries and use 1/2 cup in my oatmeal each day. They add sweetness, and make the oatmeal taste great. If you also add 1/2 oz of raw walnuts, you get not only antioxidants, but Omega 3 from the nuts, as well. Also, watermelon can be very filling in the evening, and it is very low-calorie.

Good luck!

I LIKE ANY KIND OF BERRIES, apples AND BANANAS. I EAT OATMEAL AT NIGHT BEFORE BED SO I CAN GO TO sleep EASIER, I USE THE 100 CALORIE KIND AND USE MY OWN ZERO CAL SWEETNER.

I try to eat 2 fruits or veggies at each of my 5 eating times. I like prunes, raisins, cantaloupe slices, apples, oranges, carrots, dried apricots, craisins, chilled fruit salad, celery with peanut butter, tomatos, cucumbers. I try to keep veggies cut-up and ready. I put a folded paper towel in with my veggies and it absorbs moisture and keeps the veggies fresh longer.

Hi all,
I am stuck in a rut of eating 2 oranges a day.
I am trying to do better, I put raisins in my oatmeal but normally it is an orange for a snack. If I can leave the soda's alone when I get home at midnight, I would be able to trim some calories from my daily intake.
how are you handling fruit and snacks.
