I do think they go hand in hand. It seems like the last two years I have put on about fifteen pounds and kinda rounded out. YUCK! I have been going to the gym for about a month but it hasn't made a difference yet. I will keep plugging away though. I just have to get a handle on my eating. It seems I eat constantly. At work it's pretzels all day long even when I am not hungry. I have a rough time with crackers, pretzels and salty snacks.

I can't really say that I gained weight when I went into menopause. (actually peri-menopause) At age 39 I asked the doctor for info on menopause and was told I was to young to worry about it yet. Asked various doctors and got the same response. At age 48 when I went in for a regular checkup the doctor asked me about my periods. I said "what periods?" She did a simple bloodtest and through that told me that I was a good two years into menopause. By age 46 I was finished with the "change". And they said I was to young. LOL

Eight years later, I am just shy of 54, I am doing fine, never took hormones or anything.

I linked them together too, but if you set your nutrition and fitness plans and stay consistent, the weight will come off. We've got to up the exercise and strength training to boost our metabolisms. So weight loss is not harder for me at age 54, just different. It took me a while to figure out what works for me.

Good luck to you. Meychey
