That's great! You have taken the first step.

Here's a good inspirational quote to help you--

There is no pleasure in life equal to that of the conquest of a vicious habit--anonymous

Just remember--baby steps turn into large distances over time. You've started your journey.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yesterday I was very proud of myself. I only had five jelly beans even thought the Hershey Kisses were screaming at me!!! But I would tell myself "you're not hungry so why do you feel you need food .. go drink water!" Yesterday, it worked! I plan to shop carefully and wisely this week end.

Alot of the teachers at school keep 100 calorie snack packs at their desks. I also try to keep carrots and celery sticks in the frig at work with lite dip. Another option that must be done cautiously is dried fruit (apricots, raisins, cherries etc). Since it does have alot of sugar and it is easy to go overboard you need to be really careful. With some experimenting I am sure you will able to find something. Always remember that when you eat healthy you will feel better and have more sustained energy--not all of the highs and crashes. I am confident you will succeed!

I have another problem with food .. allergies. I can't have any tree nuts, berries, and sea food. It really limits me and sometimes things seem pretty boring.

Keeping healthy munchies around definitely helps. Believe it or not, after you stop eating the junk for a period of time it doesn't really affect you anymore. Good luck!! I like to keep pistachio nuts in my drawer--they are high in good fats and just a few satisfy me

Thanks for the suggestions. Yah, duh! There ARE sugarfee candies out there and the baked chips. I guess I just need to put out the effort and come prepared with my own little goodies.

I was getting ready to say carrots sticks, celery. Huh they all kinds of candies that are sugarless too many to mention. Lets see they have baked chips, yogurt if you are into that. If you are the type that can stop at a few (I am not)have a few candies then be done with it. If you are into baking (I am not especially candies) you could make your own candies, brownies, or cookies. Just some suggestions.

I seem to do okay with the meals as far as staying within my limits but it's the darn munchies that co-workers have on their desks. ... M&M's, bite size candy bars, chex mix, jelly beans ... AHHH All of those "one here and one there" add up! Anyone have suggestions on something healthy to munch at work other than a carrot stick? My son and I ate at Chili's tonight and I had the Guiltless Chicken Platter .. a HUGE plate of food for only 580 calories! And it was SO healthy! I feel really good about that but then, I'll go back to work tomorrow and all of those munchies will be calling my name!
