You need to click on My Tools, there you will find My Nutrition and My Fitness. You will fill out what you eat and drink under My Nutrition. The site will keep track of what you eat so you can watch calories, carbs, fiber, fat and more. It will total your daily nutrients and check your progress towards your goals.
Under My Fitness you will find two areas, Strength and Cardiovascular. Again it will track it for you and let you know if you are on track for accomplishing your goals.

You have found the site for support and motivation and inspiration. It will take time to learn all that sparkpeople has to offer. I have been on here for a month and sometimes still have to figure out how to get to something I have seen before. Enjoy your journey on sparkpeople and together we will get there.

| Hi girls, This all does seem so overwhelming to me. There are so many links to look at. The biggest thing is I want to be accountable for all I'm eating & to mark down my workouts. That's my immediate problem I, too, am watching my carbs, since I finally figured out that those are my downfalls. I exercise everyday not only to lose weight, but I have osteoarthritis & articles I've read say to keep moving. I clean homes for a living, so I figure that's the workout for that day. The days I'm not working,, I'm doing a weight watchers dvd & an abdomin dvd. I am, also, looking for the support & companionship, which I think I have found on this site. Thank you for your support.

Thanks Moosiesmom, I appreciate the help. I'll try that. I'm counting carbs & I tried to put down the foods I've eaten, under my lunch menu, but I couldn't get an accurate count because it's a recipe I made up. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but have browsed thru them. It looks like they have a lot of good recipes. I'll have to try some. I think I'm really going to like this site. Thanks again, & God Bless! Karen

Hi Karen and Cindy, I am also pretty new to all of this, but I think I can actually answer this. After you log in click on the Healthy Lifestyle tab. Once you click this you will see Spark Recipes. Click on this to go to the recipe area. There you will find a recipe calculator as well as recipes. You can start your own cookbook and save recipes to it so you can find them easily later. I have used the calculator and tried a couple of recipes. Really love these features! Hope this helps both of you.

| Hi! My name is Karen & I'm new & was wondering how to get a correct count on a recipe I've made myself. I don't know how to put it in the Nutrition Tracker or post it where it can be counted. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
