I have a dusty treadmill in my family room. It seems it's never a good time to get on it unless I get up at 5:00 AM. So, I guess, that's what I'll be doing. I know it works because I wore one out before I bought this one; I just got out of the habit when my leg was in a walking cast.
I think that walking while holding on to the handles would be better than stopping. You're still walking even though it might not be at the same level.
I applaud all of you for getting on those treadmills and getting it done!

| I did ask the experts and she said it was ok as long as you are only using it for support and not to hold your body up. Today I walked for a mile and even inclined the treadmill a little. I did notice a difference doing that.

| I use the treadmill, but today was a bad day for my arthritis.

Hi Pickles914, I have no clue,I hope it really don't make a difference in our workout. Because, I do the same thing. I hold on, but up the incline to 5% to 15%, it keeps my heart rate up. So I can burn to the max. You can go to the message board and ask the expert's. And then please let us know. That was a great question. BK

BKBKTOU Just finished and thanks for the tip about adding the housework to my fitness for the day. I'm on my way there now.

Balgie, Hi, You are doing it!!! So, proud of you, now get that cleaning done....UGH is what I say too. Go to the fitness page and add Heavy cleaning and the amount of time it took you and add that to your exercise for the day as well as your treadmill workout. When I do the heavy cleaning I do that and wow, it is alot of calorie's burnt. So, when I do cleaning now I think of the calorie's I'm burning and it makes it better. Will, I didn't follow though with getting back on the treadmill again.., But, that is okay, at least I did it for the day. BK

I found a 3 disc CD at Coscos' with all really oldies and fast, ex: I'm so Excited, not the original performers but whoever they are they are good. We are GOING GIRL!!!

Murraann, I have my treadmill in what I call, my nest. And, it is a small room but I wanted it, because I knew that if it were there I would walk. When it set's there starring at you, something tell you, GET ON IT..., YOU WILL LOSE THAT WEIGHT. I have had mine for 4 yrs now. When I got it I weighed 269..., ohhhh my.., can't believe I told that to you. LOL, Now I weigh 224..., woooohoooo! So, it really is a great investment and is worth the room in your house. Mine can fold up and be moved closer to the wall. But, I leave mine out, because like I said, something makes you get on it. IT'S WORTH IT TRUST ME!! BK

I love my treadmill!!! I live in the suburbs of chicago and the weather here is sooooo cold, not exactly walking weather. Definately need a treadmill to keep up with my cardio. As of today I am committed to walking 10,000 steps per day which is approx 2 miles. In order to accomplish my goal I need to get movin.

I so want to get a treadmill but am afraid for some reason. I don't know how to make the space for it. My rooms are small and I don't want it taking up any more room. Convince me.

RosieReader, I feel the same way about my treadmill. If I didn't have it I wouldn't be walking either. I got it like three years ago and my hubby said at the time it would be used for clothes to hang on. I proved him wrong. You are doing great getting up and walking before work. GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Keep up the good work and before you know it, you will be reaching your goal weight. BK

I love my treadmill.
I know if I didn't have it I would not walk every day. However, with it sitting there in my bedroom facing me as I sit there and watch TV, I get a quilty feeling and get on it to walk.
I'm now getting up in the morning before I go to work and walking. I start the day off energized.
Enjoy it.
