My two favorite subject, Ellen and SPARKPEOPLE , I LOVE Ellen she makes my days, I have been home sick, for three years, she is the best part of my day.

| Thanks for the encouragement. I weighed today and have broke the 200 mark, I am so excited. However, I will not change my ticker until Friday. Friday is my official weigh in day. I do this with my neighbor, we are trying to lose weight together.

Ferret ,You are doing awesome !!! I love this place and I am telling everyone who wants to lose to go to Spark people for their inspiration . I love it here.I took off 5 lbs. on this my first week . I weighed in half way through the week and it said 6 lbs. But I will go with the full week reading !! I'm happy with that !! Thanks all for the support !!! TLC

Puddles...six pounds is awesome. Someone told me something, that i liked. She said that she never wanted to lose the same pound twice. Celebrate those six gone , and keep doing what you are doing. it's working.

Thanks for the help of getting my weight ticker at the bottom. I hunted and hunted for it. I did find it on sparkpage...I had not filled everything out so the ticker never showed up. Now maybe I can move onto other things haha.

yeah...i think that ticker is on your sparkpage. click 'edit' my page. and when you do edit your page, make sure you click 'save my changes' or something like that or you lose your changes and have to do it again.
oh...and don't hesitate to set up your page. it can be a work in progress, is you don't know what you want to say yet.
(which reminds me...mine is outdated...need to do that! lol!)

Welcome to all the new people here, who saw the Ellen show with the three women who changed their lives so dramatically.
I am not sure where I would be now, if it weren't for stumpbling into this site. I was one of those people who has dieted on and off my whole life.
If i can just give you a couple of things to think about...First, this site is so awesome as a tool for making complete lifestyle changes. Not only in areas of food, but fitness and even mental health, goal setting, all sorts of things.
check out the Fastbreak program. easing into using your tracker daily (it's your BEST teacher regarding nutrient content and portion) It also gets faster and easier, especially when you add your 'favorites' and 'food groupings'. Become best friends with your food scale and measuring cups.
View this as a lifestyle change. otherwise, you are just on another 'diet' and you'll go back to all the habits that got you here in the first place.
I have literally saved my life. I am still obese, but heading into my challenge of adding more exercise into my life. a complete neccessity.
Prepare your kitchens. With the transfats out, and the trigger foods out from under your nose...and lots of healthy choices instead. Try to eat fuel foods often. You might WANT a 100 calorie pack for a snack...but half an apple and 2 ounces of roasted chicken breast will 'fuel' you in a way that the emply calories won't.
i could get to yacking...so i'll shut up now.
I just want to encourage you. One healthy choice at a time. And if you make a choice that is not in your best interest...LOG it anyway. be honest. don't beat yourself up...and keep going. Within 2 to 3 weeks I can almost guarantee you that you will have more energy,and you will be 'sparked' to keep going!

I'm hoping my motivation is long lasting also . I have lost 6 lbs. this week .That is all the motivation I need. I am going on a cruise to Alaska in May so this will be awesome. Less to carry around . I love having the support and logging in all I eat . Seeing it on paper is very telling !!lol Thanks for the encouragement! TLC

| I saw the Ellen D. show also. I have been a member for about three weeks now and have lost 6 pounds. Slow but sure, I guess that is the best way to do it anyway. I did not lose anything last week so was a little disappointed, but will keep working. I am also encouraged by what I saw on Ellen. I am trying a new recipe that I have found on this site today and am excited, it smells great.

| Hi everyone! I'm right there with all of you. I started January 1st but am having problems losing weight. I exercise every day at a fitness club and try to watch what what I eat but the weight keeps hanging on.The Ellen show was a kick in the butt for me to change even more bad habits.

| Hey, I'm new to the program, too...because of the Ellen show. Isn't it great! This has motivated me to walk 4 miles every day so far. I'm also counting calories...keeping it between 1200-15oo daily. So far I've dropped 4 lbs! But maintaining motivation will be a challenge for me or at least has been in the past. I love having this support!

| Dru.....I am so proud of you. I get so disgusted, feel like I eat the wrong things or go overboard. I am one of those that want it to happen overnight. How do I overcome that. Any advice you can give me I sure would appreciate.

As a SP member for a year now I can tell you it does work. I have lost 40 lbs in 1 year. ok I lost more and gained but the people here have supported me through thick and thin. Spark Does work do the program and see for yourself.. this year I WILL loose at least 40 more and you can too. Don't look at it as loosing 100# or even 25# look at it as getting healther 1# at a time. Dru

| If I remember correctly it is on the home page. Go there and see if that is where I found it. I have had such a time with this. Takes me forever to get it going. Might me easier for some of us having problems to just use our regular emails to stay motivated.

Thx for the kind words. The heartbreak was unbearable but with the years that pass I realize I still have the wonderful memories to cherish and our lovely daughter lives one. Glad u have found and continue to have your happiness with you.
Anyhow today was a bad start for my diet. The weather was awful and I was out till 1:30pm and went out to lunch with a friend and blew it totally with pasta. I am gonna try to not do that again! Damn I was so motivated last night after viewing this awesome and inspirational site.
Exercising has always been difficult because of the arthritis but I do what I can. Thx for the note Pris...ur a sweetie!

I'm so sorry about your husband, I just can't even imagine the heartbreak! dh and I have been married 36 yrs, I won't even let myself think of losing him ... i'm so sorry, bless your heart ...
I'm trying to get up enough nerve to take the dogs for a walk but it's coldddddd ... I thought of running to the mall to walk but the concrete floors hurts my back; whine, whine, whine ... what do y'all do for exercise???

First time in ages I missed Ellen. My Mother in law saw the show and showed me this page. I have already begun my road to recovery is how I put it. I am an emotional eater and it took many many years to put this weight on and will take at least another full year to take the weight off and be healthy. My expectations of this site is to continue to motivate me everyday by logging on. Blogging and using these message boards. My health is more important to me now than my appearance, however!! I need to know if I will ever loose this excess saggy skin. I see before and after pictures and wonder...

| I saw the Ellen show as well which inspired me to join. I have 30 pounds too lose and would love to join a support group and find some friends. After losing my husband at age 50 I stopped caring about myself. The arthritis does not help matters and makes it difficult to exercise. Now it is time for me and I figure this is my last ten years before I become 60. Started today anyone wanna say hello?

| What is wrong with me!! I say I really want to be like one of those ladies on the Ellen Show today, and I have started diets so many times but never get the weight off. I saw that today and thought how wonderful that people that don't even know each other came together with help to get it done......so I am here for all the help I can get. Someone out there needing a partner like me to help get the weight off lets get it done.
