60 is great!!! I turned 60 last May, and it has been a wonderful year! I even joined a gym and have been going regularly! So I know about the muscle weight. I know my "shape" is a lot better, so I'm headed in the right direction! Welcome to 60-ville!!! Bonnie

| I lost the two I gained which pleased me..it is not a diet but a new life plan. Happy birthday dear new to be 60..which is not the 60 of years ago..look at Goldie Hawn and others who have met that milestone. I have been celebrating my birthday week..then now I am thinking from Feb 7 to March 7 (60 day) I will celebrate the last month of being 59....I will do something special for me..even if it is just to come on here and talk to my new friends. I even started to tell people that they look good or handsome, pretty, whatever...strangers love to hear something nice from a stranger...none stranger than me..but it brings a smile....we are all beautiful in our mothers and God's eyes. Happy birthday AJAYE2305!

Dear Approaching...ME TOO! My big 6-0 is this Friday, so I've tried a few new things. First, is one my mom used to do - a fine example - I started celebrating weeks ahead! A manicure, a couple of new tops, some desperately needed undies (I'd been putting off for the sake of the budget). Second, was to schedule the visit to the doctor for a "general or healthy check up". It was brief, but he gave me the "counting calories is best with exercise" pep talk. Third, was to join this site in hopes of making progress with other like-minded ladies. So far, the 60's aren't as scary as they once were...and I know, if I can make time to go for a walk & be careful in what I choose to eat, I can make serious progress. I hope YOU do, too!

If your clothes are getting looser, you are making progress. Take your measurements too. Sometimes when the scale is 'stuck', you will see changes in your measurements. The scale is not the only gauge to use. Keep up the good work.

| Thanks so much..I was a bit discouraged with my weigh in at work..gained 2 lbs when I worked so hard all week..but my clothes are loser..so I am saying it is muscle gain.

Continue to make use of the SparkPeople website and you will be on your way to a lower weight. It isn't easy but aren't you worth the effort to make the necessary changes in your lifestyle? You will not be sorry. Best wishes for success.

| In another two months I will hit my 60th birthday and never thought I would be needing to lose the weight still. But I am determined to get it off for my family, my health, my own well being. It is so much harder now than when I was younger. I am counting calories which worked in the past when I only have a few pounds. I am so pleased to have found this site.
