That is correct don't eat very late, but I also am sure to have breakfast bars at work. I have a smoothie for breakfast and then breakfast bar around 9 or 9:30 when I am more ready to eat.

If you make it a rule that you do not eat anything after 6 PM, you will be READY for breakfast! Wishing you the best!

I am trying the Kellogg's challenge, eating a different cereal each morning and then adding any kind of fresh frozen fruit that I may have in my freezer. It seems to really stick with me through out the morning and then around 10:00 am I have one of their 90 calorie bars which are very good!! At least it is working for me since the holidays!! We will not even bring up what I did over the last week of December!!

You have to do what works for you. When I heard you need to eat a healthy breakfast, I took it to mean a big breakfast but that isn't the case.
When I was in WW, there was a leader who told us the best thing is to try to get as many different food groups as you can. Don't start every day with glass of juice....have a bagel and some light cream cheese and a piece of fruit one day and maybe oatmeal the next. If time is your problem, try baking up a batch of healthy muffins so you can grab one and go. Peanut Butter is great...I could go on but I'm making myself hungry.
The point is you will be doing yourself a real favor if you give your body some fuel early in the day(I've heard you should eat something in the first half hour after waking up or finishing a workout because both of those times you're running on empty)

I eat the Special K bars (only 90 calories) and if I'm really hungry I add a piece of fruit. At first I felt it made me more hungry but not now - I actually will overeat during the day if I skip breakfast!

I had a hard time with breakfast. I started slow, it took about a week. First started with a glass of milk(no fat) then oj and milk. then toast milk oj.. You get the point. Now I "don't leave home without it"

Thank you. You do understand. I was raised getting up at 4:30 am and going to work my whole life. My parents were poor and back then kids could stay home and work. So now as an adult it has always been hard to eat breakfast. YOur right a banana is always ok. But that is not what diets tell you. They say to eat a breakfast. A healthy breakfast.
Well for me in my system a cup of expresso before work and a cup of coffee at work work well untill about 9 am and then a diet bar untill lunch.
I just wondered if any one had the same delima as me.
I am at work early and there is no sit down breakfast at normal times.
But maybe this is ok for me.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Promise not to laugh? I couldn't stand the thought of eating in the mornings because I was always sick to my stomach when I first got up. Bacon and eggs were not for me! I found white food was OK. I eat a banana and make my morning coffee. Then I have a bowl of oatmeal or a bagel. After forcing myself to eat breakfast for a couple of weeks I got used to it and now it doesn't bother me at all.
I also found if I go to sleep a little earlier, I don't feel sick in the morning.
Start small. Eat a banana or drink a glass of milk. It will get easier!

On workdays, I always eat breakfast. A hold over from when I was growing up I think because my Grandpa always made us biscuits and gravy or eggs on the wood cookstove and I was soooo used to it. On weekends, I have more of a brunch... Not really hungry then.
The one thing that I think will make you want breakfast more is to exercise as soon as you get up. Then you've built an incentive and a need to replentish yourself. You could also start by slowly edging into breakfast like having a carton of yogurt right away and then eating a breakfast sandwich or fruit a little while later.

Yes Debbie I think you will have to build a habit. One challenge our team is doing this month is building a healthy habit and working on it for the month.

It is not the food that is a problem eating or the ideas. I am a cook and ideas are not a problem. It is when you are used to not eating at that time of day how do you then eat breakfast. I assume you have to build a habbit. I was curious if anyone else has a problem of eating when you are not use to it.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Try a boiled egg on toast or cereal, or perhaps you could have what you would have for your normal lunch?
Look on sp receipes, you may find something, but really give it a try.
You should try to have fibre to help fill you up, this stops you snacking all day.
Good luck, check out my team 55+females.
