Snacks I like, and try to keep on hand:
Small cans of V8 juice (helps with salt cravings!) Almonds Yogurt with 1/4 c. GrapeNuts Cold, boiled shrimp with 1 T. cocktail sauce Breakfast bars (I like T.L.C. brand!) Tea (of all sorts) Rye Krisp with hummus (hot pepper hummus!)
I keep stuff like this in my drawer and in the frig at work -- to keep me from the vending machine!
have a great 2008!

You'd be much better off to snack late at night on protein and avoid the carb/sugar before bed. Keep broiled chicken breasts in the refrig, so you can eat it when you come home or a can of TUNA would be good. Keep the junk out of your house if possible. Also, drink some warm green tea at night to relax you.

| I like to take baked potatoes and slice them. I then brown them in a nonstick pan sprayed with Pam. Whenever I want a quick snack I preheat 2 or 3 of them in the microwave and dip them in Picante sauce. A boiled egg already cooked can be eaten straight from the fridge. A whole wheat bread stick dipped in pizza sauce is good too. Whatever fits into your calorie plan for the day.

| Hi, one of my tricks is to eat 3 graham crackers (low in calories and high in fiber) and a glass of skim milk. Fruit is also a great choice!

Keep fresh fruit on hand for snack urges. I love Asian pears, strawberries, plums. A handful of pecans or walnuts is nutritious and not loaded with salt like processed peanuts.

| Lowfat yogurt with raw almonds or walnuts mixed in. A couple of mozzarella sticks. Turkey sandwich on wholegrain bread. A few wholegrain chips (I've found a couple of brands that are baked and that are whole-grain only - much lower in calories and higher in fiber than regular chips). The key is to ONLY stock your refrigerator/pantry with healthy choices.

Hi Everyone
I need suggestions for snacks when I get home from work. I work second shift and don't get home until 12. I come home with strong resolve not to eat anything and before you know it a couple of slices of bread, cookies or any assortment of pretend nutritous food has been consumed. I do quite well during the day but this time period is my downfall.
