I too have lung disease and use the pedal exerciser. You can use it in the seated position or you can put it on the table to exercise the upper body. I recently bought one on sale through amazon.com, it cost about 75.00. It give the calories count, distance traveled, speed, etc. & I just love it.
Have been ill, hospitalized for the past month and have not been following the program or posting. Hope to start reprogram next week.

With a lung disease, it's difficult to excersice and yet I'm being told by the Doctor to lose about 15 lbs. I bought a treadmill (even though my pace will be slow) and am watching my carbs. Being a man, it seems easier for me to drop weight by watching my carb intake. Joining Sparkpeople has provided me with a feeling of support. I would appreciate hearing about excercies that I can do standing or sitting that may help me burn up the carbs.
