Dear Joan, Thanks for the welcome and encouragement. I thought walking my dog was enough but SuzieQ1947 said that the Doctor told her it isn't exercise unless you walk fast and hard enough to get your heat racing up to a certain level. I certainly admire you for walking a mile a day. I have checked out the exercise videos and I'm goint to see how I do on those first. I was going to start walking 30 minutes first. Can I walk a mile in 30 mins? Thanks for your encouragement Kathy from California

Hi everyone. This is my second day on SparkPeople. I am 56 and starting to feel it more and more. Though I don't have a lot of weight to lose, what I have needs toning. Muscle tone that is I don't seem to have any and even though I work and get plenty tired, I guess I am not using the right muscles. All of which brings me to SparkPeople. I am still getting use to this site..trying to use it. So bear with me.
