Is it true that when winter begins your body goes into some type of hibernation mode?

Jahildenbrand,
Thanks for you suggestions. No problem with thyroids but menapause possibly I just started new medicine. I have been continuing on regardless. I DO NEED TO EAT MORE VEGGIES BUT I HAVE ATE MORE FRUIT AND VEGGIES THAN THE PAST. I am a work in progress. It is only the beginning I have been at this for 3 weeks so as I pickup more exercise i am only doing it 4 times a week working towards dailey that may also make a difference. I get the small carrots and snack all the time on them now after my potato chip venture. Good luck and lets stay in touch. Thanks again

Carolyn, I think I know how you feel especially this week. I have been on a high roll off but this week still staying on my new program I went uup then back down. The doc says my thyroid could be an issue; menapause factors in also. Have you had yours checked. Also go out and buy extra measureing cups and spoons and measure those servings and track. I have been amazed how that has helped. I have also learned FRUIT is my friend and when I want crunch baby carrots.

I agree with the cookies and chips that night but I think I had gotten a little discouraged, which is no excuse. But I have been eating much better than before and huge change in my diet and work out pattern. If you would look at the other days besides that particular one.

Try and make sure that calories you are eating are the right type-- try balancing the carbs, protein and fats... I hope you don't mind but I checked your food log and the calories in cookies and chips aren't healthy. Try comparing the fat, protein and carbs in those to those in the healthier foods you are eating at breakfast and lunch and I think you'll see what I mean.

Hey Girl!

I am 51 years old, and I have the same problem.

I have gained about 30 lbs, while I was on Effexor for depression. I finally have gotten off of it, but the scale hasn't budged!

I know if you haven't already done so, lifting weight is important at our age. The fact is, we lose alot of muscle each decade. Unless we have that metabolic furnace burning, we'll pile on the weight. Muscle weighs more than fat, but it sure looks better, and you'll look better in your clothes.

Best of luck!

I have been at this for two weeks and my metabolism won't kick in. Have not lost a pound yet. Any suggestions????????

I am exercising every other day (walking on treadmill) and eating within my range of calories.

I am 54 years old and need to lose over 100 lbs. I drink plenty of water.

What else do I need to do besides have more patience. I just want to see one pound lost to see I am on the right track.

Thanks
