I took your advise. I'm also eating dinner at breakfast time. It seems to be helping, too. I've come really close evdry single day since I wrote this post. Thank you,GERI9254 - !!!

If you are having trouble making your low calorie range, than do it the morning with good protein. A tablespoon of Peanut Butter or a handful of nuts in with your breakfast or as a mid morning snack. Don't wait until later in the day. Use that to help kick your metabolism into gear for the day!

Be careful going under your calorie range, ladies. Not a good thing to do, for a few reasons.

First of all, you will slow down your metabolism. Think of it as a bear who is going into hibernation. If your body does not get enough food to cover your base metabolism needs, it will store what it can as fat. Always get your low range calorie needs.

Second, you are risking not getting vital nutrients that you need. This is rising your health. Remember your body needs protein and carbs and vitamins and minerals to function. Proteins maintain our muscles and our hearts are a muscle.

Third, you risk being hungry and over eating later. Make wise, informed decision about the foods you eat.

Don't go below your low end calorie level, it's too risky for both your health and your weight loss goal.

I am not an expert at all and need all of the help I can get! But when I go under, I find that I am hungry before the night is over. It's all in my head, of course. I'm new at this but I'm planning on staying towards the low end of my caloric intake whenever I can.

You might be adding muscle and muscle is a good thing.

Isn't it a nice feeling to know we are healthier than we were just a few years ago! I know I certainly am much healthier. I never exercised and was always a weekend warrier, I would cripple myself trying to work in the yard because I was so out of shape.

I had a very destructive weekend to good eating habits, but I am jumping back on track this morning.
Wow, I really am so glad I am not tempted to eat that way very often.

Thanks. I know I have to keep at it, but it gets so discouraging. I feel like I've been trying to lose the last 10 lbs for months. I even increased my exercise. On another note, I had a great bike ride this morning and felt quite energetic. I must say, I'm healthier now than I ever was 10 years ago.

MBJoseph, We all hit plateaus from time to time, when I was trying to reach my goal and being so very good. I was at the gym at least 3 times a week, my weight was at stand still for over a month. How discouraging!!
But, finally things kicked in an I started losing and then lost consistently for a couple months. It just happens, so just keep at it.

You know, I'm reading about you guys saying how hard it is to stay within your calorie range, and I just want to totally agree. I can't ever seem to get close to the low end of my range. I thought I did so well last week, and I'm always good with my exercise, yet I GAINED a pound! How can that be? And last week I was at a standstill. It's depressing. OK...I'm just venting before I go bike riding. I know I just have to keep at it. I just don't understand when it doesn't work. Is my metabolism at a stand still?

Thanks for the compliment. I have a friend that joined LA weight loss and she is walking 4 miles a day. I was at the track walking 2 miles. I told her I would have to catch up. I walked 2 1/2 miles. Maybe tomorrow 3 miles. The doctor put me on a steroid pack for muscle spasms in my neck, I think it is giving me a bigger appetite. Yikes!

Puddinpop,

You are so pretty, nice to see your picture.

Good for you on stick to under the calories, sometimes it is really hard to balance everything.

Carbs can be a problem, try to eat whole grains, avoiding white pasta, rice, bread whenever possible. I do know it is not easy. I made Macaroni cheese and tuna for lunch today and did not use the whole grain, because my husband doesn't like it. So, I try to trade off. I tried to go easy on everything else, I made it with evaporated skim milk, smart balance and some 2% cheese, but I know it was still deadly.
Every once in a while you just got to do it.

Have a good weekend

I've been staying under my calories, everyday except one, when my husband took me out to eat. The problem is that I eat more carbs than I am suppose to according to the pie chart.

Hi
Congratulations on being in the low part of your range, it will get easier as you become accustom to eating this way.
I was in about middle of my range today, so that was good. Tomorrow, will be harder because I have to go out after work, my coworker is leaving and we are taking him out.
Thanks you for the compliment on the pool and garden, I have been trying to get the garden established and this year it looked lovely. We created the garden about 3 summers ago.
Unfortunately, we had to close the pool early, we have a crack in the filter and it is too late to deal with it this year. It is going to be an expensive little project.

I have to take this one day at a time, so far so good. I looked at your Spark Page and I love your garden and the pool looks beautiful. I was closer to the bottom of my calorie range yesterday.

Good for you! Now I understand, as long as you stay in the range you will be fine, speaking from experience.
It is amazing to find out how many calories you are really eating. I know, last week one night I was sure I was ok, and then I put them in the tracker. I was 200 over.

I am trying to get back down to my goal, I was there and started slipping back up.

You can do this!

Well, actually I was below the higher side, so I don't have to worry about going into starvation mode. This is hard for me, but seeing how many calories are in certain foods I have eaten, has really been a wake-up call. Thanks for all of your encouragement. When I get more use to this staying below my range, I will work toward going to the bottom of that range.

Good for you! Be careful, not to go under too much, you don't want the body to go into starvation mode.

Your best bet is to get close to the low end of the range, consistently. I found that if I stay either a little under or just a little over the low end that is when I lose best. Naturally, everyone is different, it would be dull if we were all the same.

Good Luck

Hey guys. I actually stayed below my calorie range today. I feel like I have done something wonderful, but I guess ya'll do this everyday. I am shooting for the same tomorrow. Wish me luck.
