Glad to hear it worked out well. With beauty school that is always a question, I'm afraid to get the person last in their class, lol.
Enjoy your new cut.

Just to let you know, beauty school worked out!!! Lucky enough to get a student that was graduating that day...the next time I'll request a senior student (didn't know you could do that) Would follow this young lady but she's going to a Spa way cross town. Your cutting your hair reminded me, the kids still tease me, our son was in JrROTC and needed a trim so I trimmed it!!! He's lucky he didn't get demerits for a lousey haircut. Kel

| Just don't do what I tried a few years ago...yep...decided I could cut it myself using the razor and largest attachment. I'd read where women who travel full time in their RVs do it themselves all the time. Well...I certainly didn't have the hang of it. Some was short, some was long and it was pathetic. Called the gal who was cutting my hair at the time and yelled "help!" She laughed, and ended up cutting it really, really short--about 1/2 inch all over my head because some of what I'd done was that short. I went to Wally World and bought some caps and hats on summer clearance, and covered my head for the first time ever. Took a while to grow out, but you know...that was the easiest haircut I ever had to take care of--LOL!! Jeannie

Hmm beauty school, I never thought of that. At least it will be cheap and they should be up on the latest cuts. I'm still trying with my regular hairdresser, here's hoping.
good luck

| There are so many different new versions of the bob, and looks like the v sassoon cut is coming back. BUT the trick is to find someone who will cut it and do it right. I'm at my wits end, had it cut 4x since Dec by two different girls, tell them not to cut itthe same way (why she tried a short shag?, awful to think that'll come back) guess what - same cut. Decided to do what I used to do years ago, try the beauty school-that'll be tomorrow. Only good thing is if it's screwed up, it grows fast.

| I have had 'smoke' colored hair for quite some time and it is waist length and straight. I live in a dry climate so drying is not an issue. I love the versitility of doing french braid, twists, side or middle parts etc. There are some websites where you can upload your photo and try on different hairstyles. I would definitely do that before cutting it all off.

Hi,
About 4 years ago I let my hair grow really long, but it is very thick and takes forever to dry. So I've been getting it shorter and shorter and I'm going to ask my hairdresser to do it really short next visit. My hair is all grey but I color it. I'm 58 and have decided that I don't want to mess with it. Now if only I can make my body smaller and smaller to go with it, lol.

| Hi! I guess it is all in what you're willing to give a try. I'm several years older than you, but my hair has been gradually greying for 4 or 5 years. I've worn it quite short for several years now for several reasons, especially because the grey doesn't show so much, and it is much easier for me to take care of--I hate spending time messing with it. Get it cut and see how you like it...it'll always grow out if you can't get used to it.

I am 51 and because of my weight I let my appearance go a bit..since embarking on my weight loss journey I have decided to spruce myself up a bit..hence, cutting my hair, it is very thick, shoulder length and greying, I'm not interested in dying it but the only way I can wear it is in a bun or ponytail. I love my age (hate my weight right now) so I am looking for a new haircut that will embrace my maturity and greying hair. I used to wear it real short when I was thin and in my early 30's I wore a Bob, now being heavier and older I am not sure!! Any thoughts ladies?
