aboard Jackie
I know what you mean about the weight not coming off so easily. I just turned 60, and I feel like I have no metabolism. It just died on me. But the good news is that I am losing weight. It just takes time and patience. We want things yesterday. I know that is how I feel about losing weight. Explore the tools provided and continue to talk to people on the message boards. The nutrition page is awesome, with the meal planner/calorie counter. I try and use it everyday to see how many calories that I consume daily.

I have a pouch also! LOL I think the only exercise for that is sit ups. I don't like sit ups very much, but I'll try almost anything.

Hi my name is Jackie also
It is hard to loose weight when you get older. I try to just look at the size of my clothing or the measurements since when you do weight training that would add pounds since muscle is heavier. Got any ideas for exercise to loose the belly? My son is coming home from Iraq in 2 months and I want to shape up quickly.

Hi Terri
I am having trouble drinking water. I am lucky if I drink 4 cups a day. I need to get rid of the belly pouch which I am being told that is natural when you get older.

Welcome Jackie! I'm Terri. I'm just a beginner also. There is lots to read, see and do. I'm determined to lose 45-50#'s in the next six months and this seems to me a very encouraging way to do it. I started about 10 yrs ago learning to drink water. This was tough! About three yrs ago I joined Curves, and now it all has to do with what I'm eating so I need to change that pattern and this seems to be the way to go. All has been a work in progress. I will have to get working.
Take care, Teri

To Sparks I hope you enjoy your new life style. I know what you mean about weight being harder to lose as we get up in years. I know with determination and hard work you can do this. Use the program and the tools here they really help. Good luck, if I can do this so can you.

Hi, I'm Jackie and it is so encouraging to see so many of you with such great losses and near to your goals. I am just starting on my quest here so have a long way to go, at least in my opinion. The weight seems so much harder to lose now that I am in my 50's. When I was younger and needed to lose a few pounds, even alot of # after the kids came along I would just quit eating for a few days a week and they seems to magically disappear. Now it seems that no matter what I do nothing happens. I stumbled across this site yesterday and am giving it a try. Sure can't hurt and it seems that the moral support you get here is amazing. ;)
Hope to "meet" some of you soon.
God Bless Jackie
