Morning Elizabeth.
Yesterday flew by and now it's Monday morning already. I never seem to get done what I need to on the weekends and now the week is starting up again. Eating wise, I could have done better so now I'm back on track...
Happy Monday

Hello Linda!
It's 4:30 and so far has been a very interesting day: I woke up earlier and exercised. After Jeff and I went for breakfast and I had a fruit cup with cottage cheese and a brown toast (plus regular coffee). After we went to visit some family and to do groceries. Now I am back and I have to take care of the garden (I really hate fighting the weeds). Maybe I will left them there another week... How is your day going? Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth... how's your day so far? I got off to a late start - up a little too late last night, but I'm ready to tackle the rest of the day now! Great weather... Have fun today!

| I do try to exercise everyday. No need to miss a day if I can help it. Just get out there, right? I still have the urge to kick my scale around at times but I do feel each day is a new day and I try to make the most of it. My endless journey...

Hi my name is Elizabeth and I will turn 50 in 2 months. I am also getting married in two months. I wished I were fit already before two month but I think that this will have to come a "little" after. I started the program in May but I just got serious about exercise (cardio + strength) this week. I am scared of turning 50 AND getting married, although it is not the marriage that worries me but the event (wedding) itself. I tried on my dress at least 5 times to different people asking what did they think...
If you are OK with it I will pass by this team and get some inspiration from you and hopefully I will inspire some of you too. Anyhow that's me . Pleased to be here.

Hi Rebecca,
I must say you do write a good post. I feel the same way about my morning powerwalks. There's nothing I can't figure out or at least realize my options to just about any problem I might have within that hour walk in the morning. I'm by myself... thinking, walking, listening to the birds sing, and feeling the breeze come thru the trees and surrounding me with the fresh scent of the morning air. I have to admit some mornings I'm a little on the tired side but the fact that I have already started the day off doing something just for me is very empowering. It just feels good.

Hello Linda,
It was a process for me to both find the energy and the time to exercise. I have my own business and work from home so I make my own schedule and have no commute time. I started with walking around the block and made it a point to do that every day. When my walk expanded to 45 minutes I often felt I was taking precious time from my other commitments. That evolved to knowing it was the most important part of my day. walking for me became a time to de-stress and get clear enough to formulate effective strategies, solve dilemnas and feel my own power. There has not been a day when I went to bed and thought "I shouldn't have taken the time to exercise" The endorphins may have become an addiction as now I would truly miss not getting out in the sunshine to celebrate my healthy body. Honestly exercising gives me energy.

Hi Rebecca.. Thanks for the inspiring post. I have to ask... where do you find the time and energy to exercise as much as you do?

I remember the day I turned 50 and as I walked along my well worn path I kept repeating incredulously "I'm 50??". Then I got healthy lost weight and decided to reset my age. Now I am in a routine of walking 5 miles every day and bought a bike a month ago and am riding it for an hour too. I feel healthier and more like I am 42. It is just a number and we do have the choice to define what it means for us. It can be an empowering time...and should be!

Turning 50 didnot bother me like it did when I turned 40. I am going to be 60 this month, and I feel really good, with the dieting and exercising. This is the healthiest that I have been since I was in my 20's. When I say healthiest, I mean dieting and exercising. By God's grace I am still here and able to see the beauty that He created all around me. We are not growing old, but getting better.

| I thought 560 would bother me more than it did. Now I'm more than 1/2 way to 60 soooooooo.... I guess I'm just glad I am still here !

|
| on July 24th, I will be able to say I am trying to get fit over 50. until that exact moment, i will be 49. this really bothers me more than any other age but can't stop time!!
