Hi Peach,
The party was wonderful. We had a great time but...I went over by almost 500 calories. I didn't even get a chance to work off the extras while cleaning up....my friends did it all.
I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I wonder if it could be a plot???? Nah. Today was much better.
I made a spinach and pear salad for the gala that I got from sparkpeople. It's super! Spinch, fresh anyway, is super low cal and it's a great iron booster.

Yes, it has been super slow for me. So much so that I resorted to a dr's supervised diet plan. I'm going to stick with it this month and then decide if I want to continue because I do think it is not healthy but if its effective may just stick it out.
It is the decrease in estrogen for women and a host of other factors. I've even started bioidentical hormones to see if that would help, not the pharmaceutical company ones, but those made from plants by compounding pharmacists. I am being monitored by a doctor for the hormones.
If you haven't done so, make sure to do some weight training as your body is losing muscle mass as you age. Good luck we can all make it, I do think I look better today than in my 40's so age is just a state of mind.

Hi April, LOL.. my pc is always on... I am busy doing other things, I take breaks and check the emails, and yes my day was good thank you. Saw you were online and thought I'd say hello. Hope you had a good day. Mine's not over....preparing to entertain tomorrow after work for 20 women. Should be fun...wine, lasagna, chocolate. I'll have water and a salad! Nah, I'll probably eat a small portion of what's served and work like a bandit on clean up. Wish me luck

I too have started a visualizing book. Have you ever been to myvirtualmodel.com? It's a great place to play with what you look like now and what your goal will look like. I printed front and side images of my beginning weight as well as a set of my goal weight. Since it'll take me a while (53 is sooooo slow) I even gave myself longer hair. Hee hee.

I TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME, KEEP A FOOD DIARY AND ADD CLIPPINGS AND PICTURES TO HELP ME STAY MOTIVATED. I ALSO TAKE water JOGGING AND stretching CLASSES AS THE water DOES NOT STRAIN YOUR JOINTS. Hey Marsha,
I know what you mean about the 50s being slow. I keep telling myself that once I've lost this weight I am NEVER again going to let it get more than 3 or 5 pounds over. NEVER, EVER again! But first, to lose the pudge...that's the struggle. Sparkpeople is a great help. I love being able to "plan" my calories. I must log on 5 to 10 times a day. The food journal is the best! Hang in there.
Here's a snail joke. What did the snail say while riding on the back of the turtle???? WHEEEEEE! Let's be turtles rather than snails, huh?

Hey Marsha. Things have been moving really slowly for me also. My weight loss makes snails look like they move at the speed of sound. I get really discouraged, but I just try to hang in. I have thought about just giving up, but overall getting some of this weight off is what I want. When I was younger, I could lose with very little effort, now every lb is a battle. No one cares about it but me, but I do get support from my family. They aren't much help, they are all men and don't care about thier weight, but they do try to help when they can. Just hang in there and take it one day at a time Diane

THE NUMBERS THEMSELVES DONT BOTHER ME, ITS WHAT THE NUMBERS SEEM TO MEAN TO OTHERS IS THE BITTER TASTE. NOT LIKING THE FLAVOR MY LIFE WAS HEADING, AND DECIDING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THANKFUL TO HAVE FOUND SPARK PEOPLE, HOWEVER ITS JUST NOW MOVING AS FAST AS I HAD HOPED. IN FACT MY LOSS IS HAS BEEN AT A SNAILS PACE. FINDING IT DIFFICULT, BUT NOT GIVING UP OR GIVING IN. GUESS ITS TIME TO REGROUP.... AGAIN. JUST CURIOUS IF OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME IN THIER EFFORTS.
