Hi, Mary, you get my first post! I understand lengthy posts because I'm guilty of that too on other sites. I'm sorry to hear about your hip surgery, glad you're bouncing back from it, but I know the cold slowed you down a bit more. I've recovered from a sinus/cold last week -- took ColdMD along with extra vitamin C through drinking EmergenC -- I like that stuff and both together seemed to be enough to get me over the worst this time.

I'm a Christian lady too, remarried to the sweetest fella but we have no children by choice! We have a little cat family that I dearly love, and recently did a transport for a rescued dog, to help get her from Louisiana to New York, we drove south for 3 hours to pick her up in Mobile, AL and took her to Georgia....so we felt like we had a dog for a day! We did 4 legs of the transport because it was right before Christmas & everybody with children are much busier than we are around that time so we volunteered for more than one leg. It was fun.

We live in a condo, and have a little yard, front and back, that we tinker in....love to do that as long as my back holds up.

I'm trying to lose at least 40 lbs so I bought my husband, whose the 'healthy' one in our team, a new set of scales that measure all kinds of stuff digitally and it made me 1/5 lbs heavier than I thought I was! Anyway, I've made veggie soup today for supper tonight. I'll can the left overs later on tomorrow.

Time for my tiny Peanut Butter sandwich -- I'm using the food menus as a guide and that's what I get! I'm adding in some tuna on the side for extra protein.

Hope you get some rest the next couple of days so that you feel fit as a fiddle on Wednesday when you return to work -- have a great week.

Rose

Greetings:
I think I'm going to leave these emoticons alone. On certain ones, they're mistaken for html and when I go back to take it off, I lose the whole message...and for me, that can be a bit lengthy at times.
So...ladies and gents, after jumping around on the boards this last week, I think I'll settle in here for the most part as I'll be 63 on February 6. Guess that qualifies me for the 'Over 50 Group'.
Short bio...I'm an active Christian lady who still works part time as a Home Care Provider. Been off the last couple of months due to a hip replacement and some knee surgery. Although I started back to work last week, I only worked for two days as I got hit hard with a really nasty cold. Am going back to work again this week, but not until Wednesday...at least.
I also love to garden in our small back yard. I'm married to my second husband, Gene and have six grown children and quite a few grand kids. A new great grandchild is due any day now.
I'm about 5'6"...not sure now as the doc did quite a bit of 'slicing and dicing' on my hip and I walk with a pronounced limp. (One leg shorter than the other).
My goal is to lose 50 pounds, hopefully in a year's time...maybe less???
So, good people...sure hope you accept me to your boards.
Good luck to all and God bless...

Mary M.
