Hi Elaine, The plateau's are a nuisance but I have just about decided it is a body protection mode. I went to the upper end of my calories and lower. But after about 7 days it just started dropping about a pound a day for a couple days. I walked a little longer on the treadmill and changed up the dumbell exercises.

I do enjoy singing at the nursing homes. They are a forgotten people for the most part. Some families stay very close and yet more seem all alone. They like having my group come in and sing and share Bible study and give them small mementos. We enjoy the assisted living quite a bit too as they are much more interactive.

I would think that taking the Westie to the VA would be great fun and also therapeutic for the patients.

Concerning DAR, if the meetings at my chapter are every second Saturday I will have a scheduling conflict this year also. This is a new chapter for me and I am not sure exactly what the days are for the remainig 2 meetings this year. We typically meet 4 times a year. Judy

Good morning Jalynn. We have been cold too here in southern VA but its looking like we are in for a small warm up.

I have been on a plateau for awhile. I can't get out to walk. I feel as long as I don't gain I'm doing well. The weather will clear soon and I will be back at it.

Singing at the nursing homes sounds like fun. I would like to train our Westie to be a visiting dog and take him to the VA hospital in Hampton.

DAR meetings are out for the rest of this year because of sceduling. I will make it a priority to be active next year.

Hi Elaine, Just wanted to touch base and see how you are doing? I am doing well with the weight loss but the plateaus are tough to wait out. I just keep on and eventually it starts moving again. How is the weather where you are? We are having a lot of cold here in SC right now. Normally our weather is mild. I am supposed to go to our first DAR meeting in 2007 next Saturday. I have precommittments to sing at a couple of nursing homes. I may try to fit DAR in between.

Good morning Jalynne. What a good idea on going to the library. I am plannning a trip to Macon, GA maybe in the spring to do some research and will start there.

Great on the loss!! I have started losing again and am feeling good about it. I work and think its odd that I lose more during the weekend than when at work. I work out before going to work and walk during the day. On the weekends I never stop going and NEVER think about food.

Good Evening EHCHNDLR, I had the same thing with my family too where the courthouse burned. But, I went to the library in the area and found books that had marriage bonds. At one time marriage bonds were used as a contract to marriage. It was so cool when I found where my grandfather filed a bond committing to marry my grandmother. The marriage license were burned but the books were there. There was also an old book on cemeteries and I found distant grandparents names together on tombstones. The US Census was a great help. Best of luck with your search.

I lost 14 pounds from Dec 27th through a couple days ago and now I am on a plateau. I am doing the same things soI believe platueaus just happen. Judy

Good morning Jalynn. I have hit a plateau and have remained the same for several months. Really got myself in gear this week to finish what I have started an dhope to lose another 5 pounds as well. I didn't want to set my goal too high as I thought I wouldn't follow through if it looked excessive.

What I am trying to do in genealogy now is to find my Partridges in Macon County, GA. I am really stumped because the courthouse burned twice and recors are lost.

Hi EHCHNDLER, I have not been able to track any other ancestors either. But I have not worked on the gen lately. If you decide to work on the gen and you find they are from the upstate SC area, I have provided most of the info to a person over our area at a gen website. I have listed names and other things at a us gen web website. If you need it, I will send it to you directly as I don't know if this website will let me give out the other website here. Hope you have great success in your searches. By the way, you are doing great on your diet. You are nearly there!

Hello Jalynn. the ancester I came in on was from South Carolina. I have several others that are documented but I haven't done anyhting about it yet. We usually have a luncheon at Chapter House and a guest speeker. I am really missing it this year. Maybe I will be able to start back next month.

We had a luncheon at our last meeting. It was very nice. It was at a home of a member. When I first learned my g grandfather 8 generations back served several years and was at Valley Forge under General George Washington I was so thrilled. It sure has a way of making history come to life. It looks like you are doing great with your weight loss. Keep up the good work.

I started out with the Ruth Brewster Chapter in Northern VA about 6 years ago. That is my mothers chapter. I then moved to Fort Nelson. I am taking a year off because of my work load. I really miss it but keep up through sisters who go to my church.

Hi Ehchndlr, I am a member at Fort Prince George in Central SC. I researched my family genealogy a couple years ago and joined last year. I had such pleasure researching my family. Have you been a member long?
