Weighed myself this am and lost another 1.5 lbs this week. I am on my way! Small goal to reach 179 by 2-1-07, my 52nd Bday. Larger goal is to make exercise a habit and lose ten lbs, get more fit by June 2007.

Today is my first day back on SP...I'm so proud that I stayed within my caloric range. My goal is to exercise, eat healthy, and mostly cut out the wine...which may cause me to whine for a while, but I'll get through it.
Good luck to you all!

| 2007 - the year I decided to take charge of my health. I am starting my second week. Did well last week - exercised 6 days and did loose 3 1/2 lbs. I am trying to stay focused on healthy lifestyle and not diet. I have never really posted any messages but thought maybe I would give it at try. My 19 year old daughter is my biggest cheerleader and I do not want to let her down. My other goal for this year is to become a little more organized and remove unnessary clutter from my life.

Have thje same struggle with weekends. Would be best to have a game plan on Friday and meals planned so as not to go with hubby's whims for take-out. Got a workout in lst night and walked a mile at lunch today with a gal at work. I want to stay focused on daily exercising and do the best I can with food, but not a "diet". Good luck to all.

I am glad to see so many of us doing well in the new year. I have been doing pretty well on my eating, and got going this last weekend with excercising. I was doing some time on my treadmill, but I have really put some effort into it now. Keep up the good work everyone Diane

| We can do it - it's a life time of habits we're trying to change, after all... sometimes my weekends go better if I plan them out on Friday (make snacks, plan when I'm going to exercise, etc.). Good luck this week - Linda

Hi all I have done sooo!!!!!! much better this week but sorta fail back a little yesterday and today. The weekends are harder for me. My husband is not into dieting at all, and so my willpower isnt the greatest so I went over some but plan to get in together again this week. I have been exercising this week. Good luck and have a great week.

So far, so good for me, too. Packing my lunch every day and ignoring the table in the teacher's room - walking every day on the treadmill. Am looking forward to end of week for results... food and thought journaling helps me a lot - if I have to write it down I think more seriously about eating it - I do best paying attention to portion control. Later - Linda

Hi everyone - how's this first week going? I hope these changes become stronger habits - I've been on the treadmill every afternoon after work, and just made an awesome healthy turkey meat loaf for dinner tonight. I hope I make this week's goal of walking 10 miles and losing 2#. Good luck everyone - Linda

I think at SP we are all thinking of new ways to start off a new year. Isn't it great that we are thinking healthy this year? I also believe we all need the holiday break to make us aware of all hte temtations out there. Good luck to all. We will make it happen. Elaine

Hi MSDSNY,
I am jumping back on the bandwagon again. It is hard In december i gained about 5 lbs ugh. I had maid some gains in 2006 giong from 190 to 159 but they weight is starting to creep back on. I hear you about pictures, they really do tell all don't they. Check out my sparkpage and you will see my two fur babies. They love climbing the christmas tree, they are giong to be sad today when it is put away. I agree we have to break things down in to mamageable chunks and try to change habits slowly or it is overwelming. I started a journal today in which I am giong to post starting wieight , measurements and goals for 2007. I think this site is great, I praise God for a firend who told me about it. I have another 35 to go and should do perhaps a little more as like Garfield the cat, I am undertall 4' 11''. LOL and together we can be stronger

Yes, I am another New Years re-start. Actually started back to my Curves workout last week. The pictures of me at Christmas was a big motivator! I also have to de-clutter and chip away at my mess! LOL! I loved how you said to pace yourself because I get really tired and overwhelmed by how much work there is. I am also determined to take off 10 lbs. by May 10. Good luck to all!

Morning every one and happy new year! I am starting over again (this is not the second time for me, either), but feel like I'm up to the task. The holidays were a challenge, but I'm looking forward to January. Any special plans? I'm trying to re-organize my life to make it less stressful and started on that task over the holidays. I decided I needed less clutter and have been chipping away at it - Today I plan to hit my closet and send to Goodwill clothes I haven't touched in years. I'm trying to establish a rhythm that will work for me and not zap my energy. I'm also trying to keep my goals simple and manageable - I'm writing them in my planner and going back to check them off. Best wishes to everyone - Linda

Hi Gabbi,
It sounds like you and I are going through something similar. I have been giving myself THE pep talk the last few days. I have to admit it is more than my second attempt, however.
Let's just do it right this time so that it can be our last attempt. Lots of luck!

I have to eat right, move more and work on being healthier. Its that simple.
