Talk to your doctor. I did not have to do anything but replace the estrogen because I had a total hysorectomy at 45. I used the estrogen for about 3 years (lowest dose). Then with the blessing of my doctor, I started weaning myself off in less than 6 months I no longer took anything.

Talk to you doc and if you use 2 different ones talk to them both. Also do lots of research on line and go with a list of questions. If you write it down you won't forget to ask.

I just couldn't stand it any longer. I'm officially on HRT. I fought it for months. I sort of had my hot flashes under control with Black Cohosh, Red Clover and Soy. But, I still could not get a good night's sleep. I am on a very low dosage of estrogen in a patch form. I am a little nervous about the heart issues, as I was diagnosed with MVP and my mother and grandmother died of heart attacks.

Oh well, wish me luck!!
