Hello Silver Lady Nice advice on proper stretching. I'm new here and I'm not sure if you're the person I met on E-diets. Cloey

| Really basic question - and I'm serious - stretch what? And how, if you are in bed?

| I need to try these. I am not naturally a morning person but maybe this would get me out of the bed.

I will give that a try. I usually breath deeply before I get up to take any steps, to the bathroom. I use a breathing machine, have sleep apnea.
Have a good evening.

Sounds good, I usually gently stretch before I ever get out of bed, Starts the sinovial fluid oiling the joints!!!!! And my joints need all the help they can get. Bonnie

I have been doing these stretches, not as a warm up before exercsing, but more of a "Good Morning, wake up for the muscles. Feels good.
Stretching Should Not Be Missing In Action
-- By Zach Van Hart, Staff Writer
------
Stretching and warming up are easily ignored, even in commercials for gyms.
Here is how to safely and effectively stretch.
1. Inhale deeply. 2. As you exhale, slowly and smoothly stretch to a point of moderate tension, before the warm "burn" turns painful. Don't bounce or jerk. 3. Hold the stretch for 10-15 seconds. 4. Breathe deeply and naturally during the stretch hold. Don't hold your breath. Stay relaxed. 5. Slowly unstretch, and relax for a few seconds. 6. Repeat the stretch two more times 7. If possible, try to extend the hold time a few seconds and to stretch a little farther each time.
