I take thyroid meds daily. I was diagnosed as hyper thyroid and now after treatment i'm hypo-thyroid. The 20lbs I lost took me 1 year on WW. The last 20 is being real difficult! Sparks is a Godsend as WW was not doing it for me anymore & I quit yesterday. I've been on Sparks for 8 weeks and have lost 4lbs, but much more in inches which is OK. I track DAILY and that keeps me motivated. I also cut down on smoking which I think has a lot to do with weight loss - something about insulin - does anyone know about this? KIT - Jeri

| WoW, what a bummer!. Good to know your on meds. I lost one and a half pounds and I really glad, didn't think I lost anything. At least you can go about everyday living with the help your getting, I know how slow things can happen when you want it yesterday and todays dragging on forever. The longer we stick with it the better the results. Just like everything else each of us have different rates of growth and accomplishment but we all can get there!!!.Have a good day.

| Hi Tulip - Interstitial Cystitis is a chronic disease of the bladder. Case is unknown and there is no cure. I take medication 3x daily.

Well, I've definitely thought that, but i also think for me it's been bad habits. And I sometimes have a very hard time wanting to exercise because I hurt so bad. I am trying to monitor myself better so that i don't further "hurt" myself and then don't want to move at all. Blessings, Bonnie

| BonnieBee- thanks for the prayers, I'll keep in touch. Do you think we keep more weight because of the problem we have?

Tulips4me, I seem to be doing better with the gas since I have been drinking more water and am more regular, plus I think all the vegetables help!!! I also use a sleep aid, it is a combination amino acid which I will have to relook up cause I can neither pronounce it or spell it!!!! LOL I used melatonin for a long time but developed side effects that were harder to live with than the lack of sleep. I'm having a hard time with the time change as I'm not a morning person to begin with. My IBS is from fibromyalgia. I had already had it under better control from using the psyllium and rarely eating at fast food restaurants. The last three weeks are even better, which I can only attribute to the increased water and exercise. Now if I just didn't have any STRESSSSSSSS!!!! I will definitely keep you and yours in my prayers. I know they help and I wouldn't be here myself without them, Bonnie

| Hi kiki-What is intestinal cystitis?. I have to take a anti-depressent for muscle spasms, they tighten up my whole mid section and back. I've gotten so used to them that half the time I don't realize their there. Looks like your doing well, that's great!!. It's is hard to lose weight this way, but I now know there are alot more people out there with the same problems, and that is a comfort!.

| Hi Tulip - yes, I take a mild antidepressant for my Interstitial Cystitis. It helps me to get a better night's sleep or else, I am up every 30 minutes or so. But it also slows down my metabolism and everything else in my body. I just do the best I can, try to eat healthy and drink as much water as I dare.

| To BonnieBee-It's from Illness, what your taking is a smaller form of what flaxseed oil is. I drink alot of fluids because I have allergies and I cough alot if I don't Summer is really a mixed blessing. I don't like all the gas we get with this thing, It gets so uncomfortable. Exercise doesn't get it all out either. How'd your day go?. Did you do a weigh in recently? how's the losing going?. I haven't weighted in for a while because my stomach is so bloated with this problem. Even though I have meds, It still bothers me quite often. How do you do with that?. Sorry I didn't reply back sooner, I rested for a while, didn't sleep well.Blessings at this house could surely be used. May he shine his light for you and your household to see your way straight.

WATER WILL DEFINITELY FLUSH OUT THE TOXINS. I'M NOT FAMILIAR WITH FLAX SEED, I USE PSYLLIUM AND TRY TO GET STUFF IN MY FOOD. I HAVE REALLY NOTICED A DIFERENCE WITH MY water INTAKE BEING WHERE IT SHOULD BE. I DON'T TEND TO DRINK AS MUCH IN THE WINTER, CAUSE IT'S NOT WARM--DUH!!!! ANYWAY, I HAVE BEEN MORE REGULAR WITH LESS CONSTIPATION AND FEWER INCIDENTS IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. IS YOUR IBS FROM MEDS OR A DISEASE???? BLESSINGS BONNIE

| Thank you for the reply, I usually take flax seed oil but I'am really low on it. I have medication for that too. I still wonder if the IBS causes weight gain or retention and If drinking more water would release any toxicinity, do you know?.

Good Morning, Extra fiber helps with the IBS, and plenty of water. If you combine those with a good exercise program and charting what you eat, I'll bet you see results. They may be slow, but hang in there. This site is an excellent place to get buoyed up and stay motivated. I've been here for three weeks and this is the most positive I have felt in a long time about really being able to stick to it!!! Blessings, Bonnie

| Anybody having trouble losing weight due to medications?. I was told that I had to take these medications and that twenty to thirty pounds over a period of time would be gained, well I did!. My doctor says theres little I can do about it, but I feel otherwise. How long do you think it would take to take off at least half of this?. I've gained sixty pounds and half of that is due to medications alone, then there's the change of life!. Where do we start to to remove what mothernature and medicine put on us?. I've tryed all kinds of dieting and have recently started a regular excerise routine which I'am pretty good about but I don't see alot of change. I also have what is known as IBS which bloats you up like a baloon and is uncomfortable. Does that add weight?. anyone feel free to reply, info and advice welcomed.
