I used to measure everything, a habit from WW. And now I am eyeballing everything - I have to get out those measuring cups.

I used to be with WW and learned to measure everything and still do, just became a habit for me.I also keep my measuring cups out so I don't forget and right next to them is my book were I log everything that goes into my mouth.

I use a raspberry vinagrette or a balsamic vinagrette--I wonder if they can be made at home? Think I'll go do some googling from SP homepage!

Olive oil and lemon juice with pepper works too.

The only salad dressing I use anymore, is a little O.O. and a tiny smidge of salt.

I leave the set of measuring cups out on the counter. I do much better at remembering that way..

I still measure most things-- it seems just as easy to scoop things with the measuring cup instead of a spoon or ladle. And I definitely measure salad dressings as I would just pour on too much if I didn't!

It is really easy to slide on measuring, isn't it? We get in a hurry, or think we know.

The other thing I do is figure out how much I've tasted in making food. I'm the chef, and I don't use much in the way of pre-made, packaged stuff, so am cooking from scratch most of the time. You've got to taste. "That's how the cook gets fat," my mother always used to say. Make an all-day spaghetti sauce and you could easily eat an additional 1/4 or so.

I find it somewhat of a nuisance to measure out everything I eat, but it seems to be working. With practice, however, I found that with frequent foods I can visualize the correct amount. Hoopefully this will get easier
