Hi all, I've just checked the nifty progress report graph on the food monitor. They have so many helpful things on SP. I found that my graph is like a zig zag, just under or just over my range which is interesting. I want to even it out and stay within the range... so I'll be paying more attention to my scores each day.

I am sure eating the heavier/dinner meal during the day is the absolute best way to go. But, it certainly doesn't fit into my lifestyle, where husband is good for that dinner at night.
If only we could re-adjust our culture to let us have that light meal at the end of the day, we would be so much better off.

Congratulations on your weight loss. Thank you for the tip. Do you think it is better to eat your evening meal at noon rather than 7PM in the evening? It sounds like you had some terrific advice from an expert. Thanks again Laney

Hi ..I am new to SP, what a fun place. Last fall, I joined a gym with a great well-trained staff in nutrition as well a exercise. They stress not only the calorie range but not eating white refined carbs and potatoes, especially in the evening when the body doesn't need them. The body just isn't performing enough activity to burn them off. Making all of those carbs, high fiber such as stone ground wheat instead of refined white. Hope that helps, someone.
I have lost about 27 lbs in the last year and have about 10 to go.

Hi, just wanted you to know that you are in the same boat that I was. I am 53 years old and have 4 kids.I was asking the same thing that you were about eating more to boost my metabolism. Well I was surprised to fine out that eating more if you have been on a low cal. makes you lose more. I was starving myself almost and it was not working what your body does is, it thinks that you are starving so it hangs onto everything that you eat,so when you eat right and more small meals you lose. When I did this I lost really good. So I am still going until I reach my goal. You can make it just keep going and don't give up.WE can all do it together. it is nice to have someone to join in with you.It gives you strenght when yours is weak.

You need to stay in the calorie range that SP provides for your weight loss goal. The exercise will boost your metabolism. Good luck and welcome. This site has wonderful tools to help you on your way and the people here are very helpful, friendly and encouraging. Have a great day!

| That's an interesting question, I'll be watching to see the answer. I too have another 30# to lose. I lost 30# before Christmas and now it has slowed down, but I don't want it hanging around after June. I am going back to my scrapbooking to keep my mind occupied when I'm not exercising. I need to see results somewhere. And I think if the pile of pictures goes down so will my weight. Sound good?

| I just read many posts from the over 50. They are so inspiring. I am a newby and working on getting fit by the end of summer. I have 35# to lose and a lot of exercist to catch up on. My question is do we need to add more calories to stimulate our slow metabolism?
