GFNOMAD ~ (((Wavin'))) Hello, neighbor! Yes I am from the central area of the Okanagan! Me too luv the Food Tracker! I have been with SP for about 3 years. I have lost 60 lbs to date. 30 lbs to go till reach goal weight.
That may seem a bit slow for some people but at this age who needs excess skin hanging around by loosing to fast. Besides life happens and I am not going to deprive my self of any goodies, just smaller portions.

Hi OKANOG, I was checking out this forum and came across this thread. Your id made me curious. How did you come up with it? Mine is because I live in the South Okanagan of BC and love travelling. I read your profile and thought it could describe me as well! About the Over 50, I find it is harder now at 59 to drop any weight than it was only 5 years ago. I love the food tracker because I found the source of the extra calories each which caused a pound a month weight gain. Now to lose it and the extra 20 lbs I've been carrying for the last 15 years. I suggest you try swimming or Aqua-Fit Classes which both are great for cardivascular exercise and toning muscles in ones body. It is a beneficial way for people with back injuries to get a good work out with out the strain on ones back.
Weight loss when swimming as a regular exercise is more gradual if measuring by a scale but your clothes will fit better, tummies get smaller amd toning your muscles, improves greatly. In the Aqua-fit classes I have been in, the age ranges from 30-80+ years. So it definately an exercise that is good at any age.
Most community centers have indoor pools with classes and free swim [no classes] also they have hot tubs that feel great after working out in the pool. There are different levels of Aqua-Fit classes. If you DON'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM - you can still do Aqua-Fit classes! The center I go to has many different levels and times of Aqua-Fit classes. Such as earlier bird, before 8am - 10am - 1pm and so on till last class at 9pm at night.

I just joined. And I turned 58 last July. For years, I was doing cardio and weight training and eating right and staying in fairly good shape. However, over the last few years, it is getting harder. Besides stress and a back injury, I'm having a more difficult time keeping up my workouts. I haven't gained weight. In fact, I've lost weight, but it seems I've lost muscle and gained fat. Any suggestions for how I can reverse this trend?
