Water workout anyone?

I use water aerobics for one of my cardio sessions each week. I used water aerobics exclusively for about a year while dealing with a herneated disc. Good job on you weight loss!

Hi Cris,
Awesome on the weight loss. I hope you keep it up. I too belong to a gym and I go for the water aerobica as well. I'v elost 22 pounds and still have over 100 to go. I love the water workouts and they are so much easier on the joints.

Hi,

I'm new to Spark well, I joined last year but never re-visited the site until today. It's hard to continue sitting on the sidelines after getting all those success stories delivered to my inbox.

I have over 100 lbs to lose, and even though I've been eating very healthy for the last 3 years, the weight just would not budge. I know this was due mainly to my inactivity but what could I do?

I have severe arthritis in my hip, and fibromyalgia which diminish my mobility, and being in pain most of the time, it's very hard to find motivation to move. However, back in March, I started physical therapy again, but this time, I had therapy in a pool. For the first few weeks, I'd be in a lot of pain after each session but, gradually, I began spending over an hour in the pool, 3 x week using ankle weights, and the other weights to get a good workout.

So far, I'm down to 255 lbs from my original 274. That's 19 pounds without changing my diet. My therapy ended a few weeks ago so, I recently joined a Y where I can use the pool 7 days a week if I so desire.

So, for anyone who finds it difficult to exercise on land, I highly recommend getting to the pool. it's fun, it's almost effortless, and you'll love seeing the fat melting away, and being replaced by hard muscle. :)
