I agree with the positive effect of blogging and reading/commenting on other people's blogs.
For what it's worth, you can add blogging to your other goals to track, and you can get a SparkPoint that way.

| SparkPeople wants us to encourage others and I agree that blogging can be a great encouragement for others. Blogging should be worth no less than 1 point each time you blog. To jump start new people, the first blog could be worth 5 points.

| Since SP wants us to respond to people who have 1st time blogs maybe they would at least give 1 points for responding to 1st time blogs.

| I've only blogged once. Maybe I need to more often.

| I agree. It is therapeutic. It takes what's going on in your head and makes it real.

| If SP would offer just one point I feel more people would blog. I have three blog post that I really want to show on my SPage so I never blog as these would go away. To get points I might change my mind.

| I think people should get SparkPoints for blogging. Journaling/blogging is very therapeutic, and I think it keeps a lot of people from eating emotionally. Also, other members can read those blogs and support one another. Reflecting on your goals and weight loss of experience is so important, and I really think there should be an external reward system for it.
