Last night she had a pretty nice show on individuals in couple rating themselves and their partners and then a final make-over for women who rated themselves low. It was a pretty nice show. I hope none of our participants continue with rating themselves low.

I don't think I saw that one but I did see one about 2 young socialites one was thin and the other was heavy dressed them up, the thin one in a fat suite and the heavy one was pretending to be in a fat suite, I just think her show in general sucks, she likes to get reactions from the people who talk about the fat people, we all know what they say, heck we all know if someone walks down the street and they are heavy we ask our friends or lovers, "do I look like that" come on, her shows are just bad! I agree with you on the emotional problems, but some times it is a compulsion to control things also, some people can not control anything else but they can control what goes in there body and for other food is a crutch, it makes them feel good and food wont make fun of you like people, I honestly think that if the whole world didnt hold such high standards we could all be comfortable in our own skin??

Did anyone see Tyra's show on Friday about the Fat-sploitation? Who here was encouraged or offended?
I wasn't offended per-se. Every woman (and man) ought to feel great about themselves, no matter what. What bothered me about the show is that it almost seemed like the women didn't care that their lifestyle was unhealthy. It's like women who feel great being super-duper skinny (to the point of anorexia). Whenever I see someone who is all skin and bone, or someone who is severely obese, I see emotional problems, and I wish I could help them. No one should feel repulsed with their body, but anyone who is morbidly obese or underweight ought to feel concerned that their quality of life will diminish. By the time those women reach middle age, they'll likely be wheel-chair bound and burdened with all kinds of ailments. Is that any way to live? A lot of the girls on the show said they'd do something about their weight when it became a problem, but by then it would be too late, wouldn't it? Once you have diabetes, you have diabetes. Once your heart starts to fail, it's difficult to revive its strength. And once your joints hurt, you won't want to move.
It really just made me sad watching that, in the same way it makes me sad when I see someone who is anorexic or bulemic. You just want to say "You ARE beautiful, inherently. Don't do this to yourself. Embrace your beauty in a healthy way, and treat your body better than this if you truly love yourself."
