I agree there is nothing more frustrating than getting a message about a contest that says Canadians can enter then they ask for zip code and it won't except our Postal codes.

Thanks for the notes! We'd love to extend the contests, but it would mean a lot more legal fees for us to research and find the applicable laws for all the different countries this would apply to. We like doing fun contests like this, but also spend most of our time and resources improving the site (hopefully you see this with the new features and improvements we are making). Hopefully as we grow this is something we can do in the future!

I agree, that drives me nuts that International countries want to have Canadians (and other international countries) behind them and advertise to them, but we rarely get to join in on the real fun things. I know it is possible though for them to extend contests to Canadians as well as US citizens because every once in a while you'll see one somewhere. still, cheeses me off. But yeah, still nice to get 25 points.

You know, I'm sure that SparkPeople knows what country I'm in. For example, when I look at my SparkEarth settings, then it even shows my province.

So why do I get an email saying that I could win $100, when the $100 is only open to Americans? Or more accurately, "Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, Hawaii and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years or older at the time of entry.", which I think even leaves out some Americans.

I can completely see that it's tricky to do a sweepstakes over different countries, and that it's nice to get the 25 points in the first place. But why advertise a contest to me that the site knows that I don't qualify for?
