well it helps me calculate the proportions of everything I am eating (fat, carbs, protein and fiber as well as my iron and B12) which is why I enjoyed this but I plan my meal plans from a cookbook so it's not like it'S a big deal.
I will look into Fit Day.

I myself use paper and pencil for planning my meals ahead. I only chart food as I eat it.

I know this has been said before but logging in daily and tracking what I eat as the day goes on helps me stay on track and define my focus. I also realize I could do this and others could plan ahead for a week or two. We all have ways that work for us. One week ahead isn't bad and it is possible to repeat a week with the same planning ability.

Lunk. I wish more people agreed with us.
since they don'T seem to be changin their ways, I found a meal planner on calorieking.com that is worth a try. Only problem it'S 45$ to buy the software.

I'm really upset with the new restriction. I was planning my meals 2 weeks in advance. It is hard to constantly go to the grocery store because I only know what to get a week at a time. I don't have the time for this. I'm finally starting to lose weight again after starting spark people a month ago. It should be up to the user how far ahead they would like to go or at least give an option of a few weeks. It's an extreme change. I think the only reason spark people is working for me is because I can plan ahead and know exactly what I'm eating especially being busy raising 3 young children.

I agree with the new restriction as well.

I feel that logging in and tracking on a more regular and consistent basis (at least once a week minimum)helps create a more long term habit of healthy eating and exercise.

I personally agree with the new restriction.

It's more than reasonable to plan out a week's worth of meals at a time; any more encourages "cheating" in the way we track and promotes lax reporting -- both a surefire way to eat more than we think we're eating.

It's also more discouraging if you start to get tired of the way you're eating, or if you lose momentum, if you've already got a really strict mealplan plugged in until March.

Of course I buy things in bulk, cook large quantities and freeze them, and make plans for what I will eat further out than next week. That's what My Favorites and the Sparkrecipe box are for.

S,

I'm sorry about that, it's not possible to make it an option at this point.

I agree. I think the restriction should be lifted. I like to plan the next 2 weeks that way I am always a week ahead and I can print my grocery list Thursday or Friday for the next week. Please lift the restrictions.

Hi Jen,
I already spoke with the support staff about this and I feel that it is unfair you reduce our ability to track our meal planning for months in advance. I am a student and I work full time as well. The ability to know that I have a meal plan planned out for me ahead of time (I create my own) was one of the greatest feelings I had regarding this program. I do not know when I will have a busy week where I can't plan what I will eat. I ask you that you remove that restriction for those of us who are like me. You can be far from wrong in my case, this has always worked to keep me on track on my busy weeks.
If you keep the other months blocked, I will be looking into a new program and leave Sparkspeople.

Hello Everyone!

We've made a few changes to our trackers that I wanted to let you know about. The first is that there is a limit of 120 minutes per day that can go towards your SparkAmerica fitness minutes (which is the same as the limit for SparkPoints). If you do more exercise than this you're more than welcome to track it- that additional activity just won't go towards your SA goal.

The second change is that you can now track up to 7 days in advance instead of up to a month or more. The biggest reason we did this is because we've found that members who set shorter term goals and focus on the immediate future have more success in reaching those goals. Since we want to give you the tools to be as successful as possible, we felt this was an important change to make! We also hope this will help make SparkPoints and SparkAmerica leaderboards more accurate.

Thanks in advance for your support of these changes!

Coach Jen
