That will go a long way toward changing things. We should all make an effort to click the links to the legit and respectable advertisers and make sure they get feedback from us letting them know specifically that we got there from their ad on SpartPeople.com.
Those clicks drive up the value of the ad space, and bring $$ into the coffers that finance all of this wonderful site!

This may have been addressed already, but I'm too lazy to look through 29 pages of topics. ..
On the subject of Ads & sponsors, I also agree that we need the sponsorship to stay FREE (so important for many of us! I haven't got a job so free is all I can afford!) BUT!! I don't feel ads for Hoodia & other fads & OTC diet pills are appropriate for SP. These things don't work and if they even did, they wouldn't for the long term. And long term change is what everyone here is working towards.
BTW - I have frequented some of the sites that advertise here, so all is not lost.
Thanks!

| I just wanted to add that I experienced the same thing while trying to respond to a message board in one of my SparkTeams. Hopefully this info is helpful, thanks for all you do!

Thanks for the report. We'll look into this--ads aren't supposed to do that.

Okay, I know this is a free site, which is absolutely awesome, and that means it has to rely on advertising to stay up for us. I can completely appreciate that.
But I just clicked on 3 different articles from Spark mail and a stupid Honda ad jumps right out over the text. The last time I frequented a site that had these "popover" ads, the site died a painful death. I don't want that to happen to Spark People.
I can understand even having the Popover. But you gotta give us a button to close! I sat here for 2 minutes waiting for the stupid thing to go away and it never did..so much for reading that useful article!
Keep ads on banners and sides...not over the text you provide.
