Try more protein, it might get you out of your plateau.

agree with everyone passing help on here ..here's what I did when I did not see a weight loss for 2 weeks..although i did not see it as a plateau..I felt cheated.haha
I upped my cardio and reduced my calories.I burned more fat,and lost a few pounds more but I do agree..building lean body mass is what you aim for.I don't weigh myself like I once did.I feel the results. So keep burning fat. :)

Hi Nola, I've hit 3 plateaus during my 40 lb weight loss so far. We're all different. My advice... quick change your exercise routine. I changed from the treadmill to Tae Bo to throwing in some Aerobics and now I'm on the stationary bike. We're going to invest in an eliptical machine so that's my next change. Be strong and don't give up! Oh... don't forget strength exercises... they're great too!

Hi Nola, It doesn't really sound like you are at a plateau. You are losing inches so you are probably gaining some muscle. I have gone through a few plateau's on my journey. In the 170's I went over a month without losing any weight but dropped 2 sizes so that helped. I usually do some calorie cycling and change my exercise up. Slow is good. It increases your chances of keeping it off. Lets your body adjust. There are some great articles in the resource room. Check them out!! Wishing you luck. Have a good night.

i think you can plateau at almost any time. how long are you exercising? how much cardio/strength are you doing?

maybe change your cardio (sometimes it helps to mix things up). or, instead of a dessert every night, do one every other night, and have fruits on the nights you don't have a dessert.

or try healthier versions of desserts?

These pasty two weeks I have been exercising, eating right ( enough, but I usually do have a desert at night), but I am not seeing it on the scale. My inches are less around my waist and my clothes feel great. But i have a long journey ahead of me. It is too soon to plateau. Any suggestions?
