you can approximate that type of feature. in "add a food" on your nutrition tracker, select a food item. there's a link for nutrition information right there you can click to see how many calories are in the basic portion indicated. if you change the size of the portion you want, say you'll eat .5 a cup instead of a full cup, the nutrition information will change accordingly. it may take a bit of guessing as to what size portion will give you the calories you want to spend but it is workable.
the beauty of having it available in the Nutrition Tracker is that it includes foods you have added manually. if Spark set up one as you describe, it would possible only include foods in the general Spark database.

| yes great idea, i love sp and the cameraderie here. it would be nice if when you went over your daily goals for calories maybe the total could turn bright red and maybe even blink, that would be cool.

In the food tracker I would like to be able to select the type of food I am planning to eat and the amount of calories I am allowing myself of this type of food. I would like spark people to show me how much of that food I can eat to get that amount of calories. This is just a suggestion. I love spark people and think that it is the best, but you must get your program enhancements from somewhere.
