rather than adding 1 serving to my favorites, i have been adding that in to his tracker. that way i don't wind up with doubles in my already very long list of favorites. I'm just hoping at some point to do it with a click or two. nevertheless, the sharing favorites has been an absolute great add to Sparkpeople.

Nappyheaded--I like that suggestion. In the meantime, perhaps you could add one serving of your recipes to your favorites (it's always an option when adding it to your mealplanner) and send them to your son that way. He wouldn't have the recipe, but he'd have the nutritional information, which is what I assume he needs anyway.

coach dean -

sharing favorites on the nutrition data does not send over user entered recipes info or any favorites from the Spark database the originating user may have in their favorites. i shared favorites with my son's account on Sparkteens which is how i know.

perhaps the software could be tweaked to also send over any user entered recipes?

I don't think they'll be able to access it through that link while it's non-public. If you can figure out how to coordinate the timing with the other member, you could make it public long enough for them access it, and then make it private again.

You can also send items on your food tracker's favorites list to specified members now, so that may be a better approach.

Hope this helps.

Coach Dean -

I'm not sure how to sent recipes/cookbook to another member w/o making the recipe public. i don't share recipes i enter because i get them mostly from copyrighted cookbooks. but i do want to sent the info to a family member so that the nutritional info can be added to their food tracker.

is it possible to send a cookbook or recipe to a specific member?

Hi, Donna

I think you'll find it a lot easier to deal with those needs if you use SparkRecipes and the new My Cookbook feature you'll find there, instead of the Meal groups on your nutrition tracker. You can make recipes accessible to other members, and also email your cookbook address to your husband, so he can access it himself. Also, you can use items from your favorites list in your recipes--just use the search user-entered foods option when you use the search box to find the items in your recipe.

Hope this helps.

First of all, SP rocks. I've lost 11 pounds in 5 weeks and am exercising regularly for the first time in YEARS, so THANK YOU!!!

Also, I noticed your new feature to share favorites with another member. My husband and I already find that really useful!

My suggestions are:

1. To be able to share food groupings. That way I can send my husband the info for tonight's dinner. :)

2. When creating a food grouping, to be able to add a food that is listed in my favorites. Sometimes I'm adding things multiple times because I can't access my favorites for the food grouping.

Anyway, just a thought. Thank you again for all you do!!!
