Had this happen to me today..well sorta. It did not snap in to. It snapped off the connector. I had my 1 year old close by and it got him. Obviously he was not pleased.... I would have never thought to keep him away. Thankfully I know now.

We have signs up at my gym about this & the tubing - so it happens to others as well, not just the cheap ones. Good warning though!

D,

You might want to check out some of the exercise demos in the Fitness Resource Center. Many of them use resistance bands and can give you a good idea of what the exercises should look like. Typically you wouldn't want a lot of slack in the band b/c you need that tension to help work your muscles, but it's hard to know for sure without seeing what they are doing on the video.

Hope that helps,

Coach Jen

Great workout video! Sorry to scream, but I wanted to warn everyone to be careful using the "inexpensive" brands of resistance bands. I've broken every one that I've bought from Wally World and Target. Trust me when I say, it hurt like HELL when it snapped and hit my foot that was providing resistance. Just glad it wasn't an eyeball. I thought I had purchased a better set because it was branded as a "Gold's Gym" product. I thought maybe it was me, but while reading some golf fitness experts website,I came across a warning about using "cheap" resistance bands and how they tend to break. He went on to say that you get what you pay for. DUH!I had seen this warning and other more expensive bands on certain fitness experts' websites, but I thought they were just trying to sell their own "quality" products. This was the first video I had watched on r-bands. I noticed that at some point during most of the exercise movements, there is little or no resistance due to slack in the band. That confuses me, because at that point I feel I'm not working! Is that how r-band workouts are supposed to be? I really like the r-band concept and want to use them correct, sooo EDUCATE ME...anyone! Sorry so long. Thanks in advance.
