This sounds really bad but it was a full 40 pounds...I had gotten to the point that what I had I barely fit into and those were woman's petite sizes in the 20's and one up to 24...I am short and looked like a box..no joke!!!
I simply started to be able to button without pulling things, actually get into some of the large sizes etc....
From about 50 lbs on I could fit back into smaller sizes in the closet etc.
What I did was when I could finally not fit into those huge sizes anymore..to help my mind adjust to staying healthy...those big sizes went out to Goodwill...I had kept a closet filled with different sizes and that mentality had to go.
I am not now nor will I ever be a size 0 or 2 unless I go to the designer sections and yeah I can fit into those sizes...but for normal sizing...I am a comfortable 4/6/8 depending on the cut and the maker. I still have some tummy fat I am working on with exercise but I can tell you that you are not alone at all .......you are doing great and the anticipation of watching the little stuff...for me my legs not rubbing against each other....going longer and longer in cardio, fitting back into shoes or being able to put on a ring or a watch that didn't fit...there are tons of things you will notice..believe me!!!!!
Take care and keep up the great work!!!!

| I haven't had to get new clothes. What I already owned are fitting better, which makes me wonder since I've lost 20 pounds what some of them looked like before. Actually, I have some pictures that answer that question. I had no realization how bad I really looked.

| I have to laugh, I had to buy new work pants since my old ones were getting too big (yeah!). Most of the summer we got to wear jeans, now back into my work pants and these are getting too big - feels like I wasted my money, but darn, need to get a smaller size - again. I am loven' it!

I saw that commercial too - isn't that the funniest thing? :) Like many posters before me, my clothes are starting to fit better [i.e. it doesn't hurt to button my jeans! ha] and I have lost only 5 pounds. However, I have so many clothes in storage in various sizes I might not be able to go shopping in a STORE for quite some time!
Good luck on your programs - I hope you meet your goals soon...and get to make that shopping trip!

I just purchase seven(!) new tops because all my old ones looked like old lady clothes since they hung on me. Wow! And I have only lost 12 pounds.
I haven't tried on my dress pants yet, but I am looking forward to a different size too. I have to since I have lost around the middle and hips.
This is fun to go shopping!!!

I've lost 4 inches around my waist, and I'm really close to needing a new pair of jeans. For the rest, I'm like a lot of other people who are finding that they actually fit into clothes that they squeezed into before. I also just took several things out of storage that used to be to small, but now fit, so that kind of felt like getting new clothes.
One of my rewards for hitting my goal weights and measures is to get a new pair of dress pants for work that are actully altered to fit properly. I've never felt good about spending the money that they will cost, but now, I believe that I deserve them for working so hard and getting into the shape I should be in.

I couldn't speak for you or anyone else, but I know that part of my denial was that I never bought anything over a UK16/18, so whilst it took a while to move down a size I did actually become someone who really was a 16/18!
If you had always *squished* yourself into smaller clothes than you should have, it will take a while.
I have lost 40lbs now and am still only a UK14.

I'm still wearing the same clothes. I just notice that they fit better. I wonder what they REALLY looked like on me before.
I know that when I get back to school I will have to buy new slacks. That is where I am feeling the most weight loss.

| Same here. The ton of stuff I have in my closet is beginning to fit again. I usually have to buy jean every 7-10 lbs. though. I'm hoping after another 10-15 lbs. I can begin donating some of my stuff and buy smaller sizes :) .

At what point did you have to start buying new clothes. I have lost 20 and still havent bought anything. I did have some shirts put away that I now fit into.
