Wow STEPHWOODHILL! What a great idea. I never thought about contacting the restaurants for that info. I'm going to do that as sometimes I cannot find the nutrition info either. Thanks!

I live in a neighborhood where there are not a lot of restaurant choices. If I stay close to home, I find myself not wanting to go to the same places so I eat heathier.

Around here in Knoxville, Tn., there are many restaurants, but it's enough out of the mainstream to not offer as many choices as bigger places might...we do get some healthy choices, but...

I have found too that restaurants are offering heathier choices. I just don't have any will power. But i am proud of myself, I went to a picnic over the holiday weekend and did not have any dessert and only one glass of red wine. I did have a hamburger that tasted terrible but I ate it anyway.

I find that most restaurants are now offering a "healthier" choice...somewhere on their menu!
There are very few things I haven't found already posted on SP.
I have serious food allergies and most 'name brand' restaurants have their nutritional information available, but you do have to ask!
And BTW...thanks for all the websites!

This website looks like it has just fast food, but it has food from all over...http://www.dietfacts.com/fastfood.asp

I am playing it safe and not going to restaurants until I get the hang of planning healthy meals. It is just too tempting to see stuff that is bad for me because I got to have it. Holidays are all I am doing right now.

I look the restaurant up on goole, you can find most of them. If not I don't go to that restaurant.

I'll try that shapefit.com but I don't eat in fast food places but will see what they have to offer and pass it on to friends
thanks

If you add individual fast food items into your meal through the nutrition tab, it has a remarkable number of fast food products listed.

Plus Taco Bell, Wendy's and many others provide pamphlets with the nutrition info at the stores, and McDonalds even lists information on the package, a trend that I hope will catch on.

Another option that I used before I was on Sparkpeople was www.calorie-count.com - they have a comprehensive list of foods from everywhere.

Best to you, Millfuller

Thanks, I try to steer away from fast food as much as possible but sometimes I find myself in a situation where I have to eat it.

This will be helpful!
