A Change to how recipes are added to food tracker

I would have to agree. I have 'created' my own recipes, and then realised that I have left out an ingredient, but cannot edit that recipe, I have to start from scratch.

Same as when I have made a SP recipe, there are certain foods that we cannot get here, or that are different in Australia, and it would be really good to be able to change/add to recipes.

To keep creating, or using the recipe calculator is very time consuming, it's a brilliant feature, but I believe that it would be much better with an 'edit' feature, and 'add to my recipes/favourites/food groupings'

I don't mean to ramble, but have found this a few times now, and time-saving is a big help with cooking/weight watching.

If you are making your own recipe from scratch, you can work out the numbers on that.

In the resource centre, you will see the link for the recipe calculator.

Sometimes it is so hard to track, it really would be great to be able to put in our own recipe and know what the numbers are.

That would be a great idea! Especially for those of us who can't get all of the ingredients in some of the recipes.

(This looks like the best place to post suggestions/improvements to SparkPeople...)

I have found some great recipes on SparkPeople. Sometimes, however, I don't have (or choose to use) the exact ingredients as called for in the recipe. In order to track what I ate properly, I need to creat my OWN vesion of the recipe, and add that to my tracker, or just add the ingredients to my tracker 1 by 1, adjusting quantities for my serving size.

To resolve this, I would love it if either:
a) There was an option to edit/adjust exisiting recipes (saving it as a personal recipe), or
b) There was an option to add a recipe as a food group (therefore listing each INGEDIENT in food tracker, rather than the recipe as a whole)- that way you could then delete the ingredients you didn't use, or add new ones, change amounts, etc.

Thank you for such a wonderful program & website!!

-Norah
