Aw, no prob Lonnie! I enjoy talking in here too! My hamburguer tonight was made out of lean meat inbetween whole weat toasted bread with a lot green snaps and some low fat cheese on it. I'm lucky that I don't like dressings that much.

When I get to my goal weight I might allow myself treats once a week, but I think a homemade hamburger is a healthy meal choice, as long as it's loaded with veggies, on a wholewheat bun and mustard is the condiment I use... Thanks for chatting with me, the support is one of the best parts of SP!

That's great! I wish I could say the same as I still like to eat a hamburguer here and there, just that I eat the ones I make at home (no super size meals for me).

Yeah... I went from really bad binge eater to perfect eater in 4 short weeks! My last bad meal was a hamburger with fries, followed by a huge bag of potato chips. Tonight I ate 3 oz of fresh snapper, 1/2 cup spinach, 1/2 cup squash and 1/2 cup rice!

NP, I too found my self loving veggies (use to be a veggie hater before SP). It could be nice to have real meals, I don't mean just super lean or with lots of veggies but something for the people inbetween, making a transition from junk-addict to healthy.

Thanks Aldana, I really believe it will show the people who don't have the time, money or motivation to eat well think about the alternatives to the fast food restaurants and snack aisles in the supermarkets. I've been eating healthy since January 2nd (thanks in large part to SP) and I'm loving the spinach, beans and whole grains!

That would work I think, and even more than just once a week... How about a healthy tip on every showdown? They have the content (there's plenty of info on the Nutrition Resource Center about healthy food) so it's not like they have to produce a whole new set of tips and/or comparisons.

We should advocate for this to happen as I've seen lots of people "complain" about this.

Fair enough, but could you add one a week with natural foods?

Lonnie, I agree with you in that we should get information on healthier things but sometimes life happens and we don't have the time, will or money to make the best choices we would wish to and I think that's when this comparisons come in handy.

Hi there... I read the food showdown every day, but I live in the country and we don't have any fast food restaurants here. Even if we did I wouldn't go as I'm trying to live a healthier life. I would love to see more comparisons between natural things (cashews vs almonds, green tea vs orange pekoe, lentils vs chickpeas, basmati rice vs brown... etc). Teach us good choices among healthy, natural foods instead of pizzas, pretzels and milkshakes!
